Hello, and welcome to episode 1031 of the official Establish The run.com podcast. My name is Adam Levitan. I'm one of the co-founders here at ETR, as always joined by fellow co-founder Evan Silva.

And week four is in the books. It was the wide receivers strike back a bit, Evan. Massive week for Teterory McMillan, CD. Lamb, Nico Collins. Evan, how was your week four?

Evan Silva (0:42)

Yeah, it was a super exciting week.

There were a ton of injuries again. That will be a big theme in the upcoming matchups column. I mean, just keeping track of all of them is a job in and of itself. But yeah, it was a high scoring week. Also, the last week where we had all 32 teams playing because now we got some buys coming up.

Adam Levitan (1:04)

Yeah, I meant to look into this. I didn't have a chance to before the show, but it certainly feels like injuries have been worse this year. And even if the quantity of injuries isn't worse, I think the fantasy impactful injuries have been worse. And so it feels terrible for all of us. But yeah, I mean, I'm going to try to look at it and see if that's the case, but it feels really, really, really bad on the injury front here because we're going to go through the first four weeks.

On today's show, we are going to go team by team through all 32 NFL franchises, discussing the most important things we saw in each and what it means going forward. Usage, injuries, performance, everything. Reminder for anyone serious about fantasy football or DFS this season, clearly I'm biased, but I could not imagine trying to play seriously without our NFL in season product. Basically, for any decision that I make, I look at our projections. I read Silva's matchups for his take on every player, every game. I look at Thorns, offensive line, defensive line rankings, tons more. Plus, you get all our premium shows like Silva, Leone, Man vs. Machine, myself, Silva and Wiggins on Friday nights, myself and Silva on Sunday mornings, last minute live stream. So head to the content schedule in the NFL tab for a full list. That is the in-season NFL product at establishtherun.com. We do have weekly, monthly and annual options available.

All right, going to start with the five biggest stories of the week, and then we will go team by team in alphabetical order after that.

Story one, Evan, let's go back to Philly. Eagles were already playing without Devonta Smith, Dallas Goddard, Zach Bond, Lane Johnson, Fred Johnson. Then they lose Saquon Barkley to a hamstring injury in game. Then they lose Tank Bigsby to a hamstring injury in game. Through all that, they still had a great chance to win this game, to beat the Rams at home, but they give it away late and lose 24-20. It is full blown panic right now in Philadelphia, Evan, especially around the offense. Thoughts on that, and then thoughts on the upcoming backfield situation without both Barkley and Tank Bigsby.

Evan Silva (3:17)

Yeah, so for a long time, the Eagles have relied on year in and year out Howie Roseman's roster building, having built one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. Even years when they are not going to the Super Bowl or winning the Super Bowl, they have had one of the best rosters, from a pure roster talent standpoint, every single year. And now, they are so depleted that you can't say that about the Eagles anymore. And now, you are seeing the limitations of Nick Sirianni as a coach. And so, I think that that is being exposed.

Also, the loss of Jeff Stoutland, I think, has been felt through four games on the offensive line. But of course, Lane Johnson dropping out in this past game.

Cam Juergens playing a position where he is not supposed to play. And then coming up with, now he is battling a concussion. They were already without Landon Dickerson. Yeah, the Eagles are in trouble right now. It doesn't look like Devontae Smith is going to be back in Jacksonville. Saquon Barkley is probably going to be out. The Eagles are in big time trouble. And the Jaguars have played really good defense so far this season too.

Adam Levitan (4:25)

Okay. So having said all that, and I agree with you, this offense looks broken. Jalen Hurts was 12 of 27 in this game for 93 yards, 93 passing yards for Jalen Hurts, also only carried it five times for 18 yards. You know, our old friend, Shil Kapadia, he said he had a tweet based on success rate. This is the worst in Eagles offense has performed through the first four weeks of a season. This century, they've gone three and out on over 45% of their offensive possessions. I mean, that is absolutely insane. So having said all that, Evan, how excited are you for this opportunity for Will Shipley? Will Shipley, 2024 fourth round pick of the Eagles has not played very much since they made that selection.
