All right, welcome aboard. Welcome to one Tuesday afternoon. Come here, wrestling with this microphone stand.
That's not a stand, really. What would you call this, Will? Clip?
Extension device? Looks like something you'd see in a dentist's office, I think. In any event, what was supposed to be a pretty rainy Tuesday, boy, they threatened us last night on the news, didn't they? Holy cow. Start building your ark now.
Gathering your animals now.
And rainy Tuesday is supposedly going to be followed by another wet Wednesday, and a potentially wet Thursday.
Low pressure system to the southeast is marching to the northeast, southwest, excuse me, is marching to the northeast. This little system that may or may not become Tropical Storm Arthur before it falls apart, we'll just have to all wait and see on whether or not it develops as it slides gently off the coast, I guess at any minute now. And depending on how far it gets offshore and how much legitimate chance it has for development, we'll just see whether we get something with a name or just maybe some pretty heavy rain probably this afternoon and tonight, maybe into tomorrow a bit. But by sometime Thursday, it's all supposed to be over. So again, make sure you got your medicines that you need. There's anything critical that you couldn't do without for about 72 hours, then maybe go get some more. But otherwise, I think we're going to be okay with this one. I don't want to jinx anything. I'm not that, I'm not really superstitious. But then again, every time I say something like that, I knock on wood just to be sure. Just to be sure. Depending on whether you get your weather information from TV or an online source, we're in for either, well, they use the words possibility and chance and all of that. And I heard them on two different newscasts or weathercasts last night during the news, potentially up to 10 inches of rain in some areas and as much as five inches per hour in some areas.
That's the potential. The forecast that I trust more, and actually the one of a coworker, a different forecast, but from somebody I trust to know her source as well, both of the ones we were looking at say we're more likely looking at a couple of inches of rain a day in most of the area. Will there be isolated street flooding? Flooding? Probably.
There always is when we get a heavy rain for more than a day around here. Somewhere, somehow, there will be a street with water across from curb to curb. And you can bet that every new station in town is going to be there getting footage of that flood so that they can say they were right. I'm not knocking meteorologists. I know they study hard and learn what they know about the weather.
But what they don't tell you is that the weather changes. It's just like all the greatest golfers in the world playing in the Masters or playing like this week in the US Open.
Major tournaments, major tournaments, and every one of them capable, capable of birdieing every hole on the course. But they never do. They never have, and they never will.
That, except for that, what was it, Kim Jong Un or Kim Jong Il, the, not the current leader of North Korea, but the former leader of North Korea. He was alleged to have shot 18 on a golf course one time. That's what they said. There's also other things about him that they said that are equally impossible and untrue, but that's just how they do it over there. So anyway, I don't think we're gonna get a whole lot of much, much and nothing out of this. Non-cataclysmic, that's what I'm gonna call it. Nine of 10 models that I look at say that there will be significant rain at some point, but it won't become much more. So the odds of it becoming Arthur, which is my middle name by the way, the odds of it becoming that are slim and or none. I'm firmly convinced that this is, you know, and again, just to be sure, I don't think we need to worry about this. Go get yourself a couple of rolls of toilet paper, get a case of water, and maybe a dozen eggs and call it a day.
