Lacey, welcome to Twenty Something. Thank you so much for being here today. I am really, really excited for our conversation.
**Lacey Bruschke** (0:06)
Thank you so much for having me.
**Olivia Burnett** (0:07)
Yeah. So for the person who's spending an hour or so of their time with us today, what about their life, their mental health mindset is going to shift or change based on our conversation?
**Lacey Bruschke** (0:20)
I hope based on our conversation that they will be able to combine courage with some indomitable faith, which is going to translate into sheer determination to help them push through anything that might be standing in their way of happiness. And the way that they'll do that is through whatever steps that they want to take right now to help improve their overall health, wellness, and just fitness in general.
**Olivia Burnett** (0:49)
Man, that was like the most perfect answer ever. I am so excited for this. I think that pairing courage with health, like you said, is like a pretty powerful combo. So I'm really excited to learn more about that, and let's get into it.
Wait, are we recording?
Hey guys, it's Liv, and welcome back to Twenty Something. Before we jump into today's episode, if you have been loving this podcast, would you do me a quick favor? Just leave a quick review wherever you're listening. It helps more people find the show, and honestly, really makes my day to read them. Okay, so to get in today's episode, for years, women have been told that smaller is better. Smaller waist, smaller jeans, smaller number on the scale, the whole the police out here looking for my waist thing. But really, truly, what if we've been chasing the wrong thing? What if the goal wasn't to be the skinniest person alive? What if the goal was to be strong? Not just physically strong, but mentally strong, emotionally resilient, able to regulate your nervous system, handle stress, and show up for your life with energy and confidence. Today's guest is Lacey Bruschke. She's a registered nurse, certified personal trainer, inventor of the Obsidian Slide Board, and has spent more than 20 years helping women transform their health.
This conversation isn't about getting six-packs or fitting into a certain size, and it's not even that skinny is wrong. It's just about building a body that supports the life you want to live. We talk about why strength matters more than the scale, how to have a healthy diet in a way that feels doable, how exercise affects your nervous system, and why so many women are exhausted and overwhelmed. And honestly, just what actually creates long-term health and happiness. It's science-backed facts in a digestible format of things that you can do.
So if you've ever felt stuck in the cycle of trying to look better and sort of feel better, then this episode is for you. Again, this conversation isn't about anything being wrong with skinny or anything being wrong with strong. There's just certain things that work for you and your body, and that's what we're going to talk about today. Thank you so much for being here. I'm always so, so grateful that you choose to spend your time in the Twenty Something community and listening to our episodes. So let's get into it. Lacey, welcome to Twenty Something. I am so grateful you made the trip down here. Thank you so much for coming in the studio today.
**Lacey Bruschke** (3:18)
Thank you for asking me.
**Olivia Burnett** (3:19)
It's a pleasure. Yeah, you know, we were chatting about this just before, but I'm really excited for our conversation today because we have so much content on social media, which I think can be a blessing and also a curse, right? When we're trying to make lifestyle changes, changes to our health and fitness, like we're going to talk about today, it can feel very overwhelming because you're getting so much different advice from so many different voices that it's hard to know what actually applies to me and what will actually work and what is actually going to be doable and repeatable long term. And so I'm really grateful to have someone like you who not only has so many credentials and a lot of history and experience, but you've built a whole studio and practice and have achieved so many amazing results with so many men and women. And so I'm like, if we can just harness these truths and practices and share them with everyone, I'm just really grateful to have someone like you in this space who is teaching principles that actually work.
**Lacey Bruschke** (4:22)
Yeah, thank you. I think it's so important and I hope we can capture all that today.
