All right, welcome aboard. Fifty Plus, one more time this week, huh?
And as we all wait, I guess, it's still gonna be a pretty good amount of time longer before whatever Bertha is going to bring gets brought. My gut says we're gonna be okay with this one, but you'd never know it based on local forecasts. Although, I guess this time, to their credit, even our local folks have remained pretty subdued about Bertha. Wendy, yes, but barely qualified to earn a name. She's gonna pick up a few thunderstorms too and throw them at us this afternoon, maybe into tonight, I don't know. Some of them might be pretty severe and heaven help CenterPoint if more than a handful of people lose power for more than an hour or so.
They've had their chances to get ready. They had their chance, again, what was it, two years ago now, I guess, for Barrel, when Barrel came barreling through here and knocked everybody's power out. Mine was out at the house, I want to say for seven days maybe, might have been a little longer, you lose everything in the refrigerator, the entire house takes about two days to cool down, and it's just a hot mess, pun intended. If that happens, they're gonna catch all sorts of grief, because they've had plenty of time, plenty of time to get it right, and they'll catch it from, and very rightfully so, from the people who get left in the dark.

Now, get out. Shifting into some news that I caught up on recently on the way to the midterms, the left is, as Jesse Waters puts it, trying to condition Americans to not judge criminals, to see them as just regular people who maybe had a bad day.
And we all have bad days, they'll tell you, right? That's one of Tim Walz's lines. We all have bad days. And of course, that's right, our bad days might wind up with us maybe shouting at the kids or honking at somebody who cuts us off on the freeway.
Little things that really don't affect anybody else. A criminal's bad day, though, might wind up with someone, I don't know, dead, maybe raped or a convenience store being robbed. And the person who was robbed at that convenience store being scared to death every time she hears that little bell ring when somebody comes through the door. Those are not normal endings to bad days. Crimes are, they're very often just the calculated, the result of calculated planning. Although not always good planning, which is why our jails and prisons are full and not empty. Minnesota governor, I mentioned Tim Walz just a second ago, he tried singing that had a bad day song to justify the case of a guy whose bad day involved the repeated rape of a 10 year old girl. And Walz made that plea because as governor, he pardoned that convicted pedophile. He pardoned a man who repeatedly raped a 10 year old girl. And he was nominee for vice president along word salad queen Kamala Harris who, yeah, I don't wanna go back to those days. I really, really don't. I really, really don't. Oh, speaking of, I saw a video yesterday of Kamala Harris a couple of years ago being asked what she thought the, I think when she was vice president being, what she thought was one of the biggest threats to our country and she mentioned Iran and she mentioned its desperate want for nuclear weapons. And she said that no way they should have them and whatever we need to do, we should do to keep them from having them. And then just recently, another clip from her talking about how Donald Trump has got us in this war that we never should have been in. It was all his fault. It was all his idea to go over there and do that. And she just couldn't for the life of her figure out why. The hypocrisy on that side, most of it with mentioned before and after of Donald Trump somehow is just staggering. It really is. And from another one from the deranged left syndrome out there in LA., Mayor Karen Bass blamed the addiction of meth of lots of homeless people there by somehow, she tried to blame that on them wanting to stay awake because the streets aren't safe. Well, here's a news flash. Those streets, yeah, they are dangerous. No question. You know why? Because so many people walking them are addicted to meth and need money which they get by robbing and stealing to buy more meth. She's the same mayor, by the way, who said, and this one came as a shock to me. I didn't realize she actually said this. She was talking about the city paying for homeless meth addicts to get new teeth. I saw something else kind of weird from the DSA, the Democratic Socialists of America. They want to get rid of prisons, well, I guess, except for maybe political prisoners. How's that sound? They'll defund the police, so we don't have to worry about any more people who had a bad day winding up in the courts and being sentenced to years or decades in prisons because they had a bad day.
