Discounts not available in all states Guys, if you haven't listened to part one, before you press play on this episode, you've got to go back and listen to part one, and then come back and listen to this. I wouldn't normally say this, but I'm telling you, this is one of those episodes. If you've been listening to this podcast a lot, you know I don't say it often, but I'm telling you, not gonna wanna do this out of all that.
If you have listened to part one, come back and listen to part two. And then my guys who's listened to this, my homies, if you're listening to this and you have listened to part one, then holy smokes, yes, you're gonna need another box of tissues because we go even deeper into how she started to rebuild her shattered self. And we get into the nitty gritty of the practices that she actually ended up adopting so that she could stand back up after she kept falling time and time again. So if you wanna know how on earth you get back up, number one, you listen to this podcast of Women of Impact. And number two, you listen to this episode because she's gonna help you beat a fricking badass and get back up because my homie, I'm here to tell you, you are bloody worth it. So let's dive in right now. I'm Lisa Bilyeu, welcome to Women of Impact.

**Lisa Nichols** (2:11)
I remember speaking at an event in Utah. There was 13,400 people there from 11 different countries. And it felt like a big moment. And I went upstairs and my assistant at the time said, your doctor needs to talk to you now. She wants you to get on Zoom. And I knew I had just taken all these blood panels and I had taken the iridologist tests, I had taken the stool tests, I had taken the saliva tests to understand why am I getting so big. At the time, I was 224 pounds. And my doctor said it felt like time had stopped. I had just come from a height of heights downstairs at the hotel. And she said, Ms. Nichols, you're no longer obese. You're now morbidly obese. And it's not a matter of if you will have a heart attack. It's a matter of will you be on stage when you have it? Will you be on a plane when you have it? Will you be in a hotel room? Or will you be at home with Jelani?
She said, I'm, I know I'm speaking very direct to you. And I know this is very disturbing. But I think I have to do it this way because I've sat in your audience before. And I didn't know she had been in my audience. She said, you inspired me to keep going from my medical degree.
She said, and if we lose you, we've lost too much.
And so you need a radical intervention.
So my health has been private to me. I had six blood transfusions in three years. Wow. I would leave the stage, quiet as it's kept, no one knew. But I would leave stages, sign autographs, sign books, take pictures.

**Lisa Bilyeu** (4:30)
Smile, pretend.

**Lisa Nichols** (4:32)
Smile really big, and get in the car and go straight to urgent care for a blood transfusion.
I had almost lost hope and thought that this is my destiny. I can be brilliant and spiritual, but I'm always going to be morbidly obese. I'm always going to not have enough iron. I'm always going to have a low blood panel. I'm always going to be this way. This is my sentence.
