All right, Dillemas.
Travis (0:03)
Hello.
Kirkland (0:03)
Hey, we're back. I'm just going to make a quick little time stamp for myself. Thank you. And now we're going to be getting into some fresh news that came out today.
I mean, it's not really fresh news, but there has been some hummin and hawn about the just release of Batman 2, because Matt Reeves was going through some personal stuff, and then it sounded like it was going to be slowing down, and then just today, it was announced that with Matt Reeves dealing with a personal matter, Steven Soderbergh is coming on to help finish production on Batman Part 2 Now, this does not mean that Matt Reeves has stepped away or anything permanently, like he is still attached to the project. He even tweeted today that, to be clear, he is still very much a part of the project, which is great to hear. Obviously, we hope all the best wishes for everything and everything works out well for his personal matter. Thumbs up from the GV crew.
Should go without saying, but yeah, so this is like fresh news. I mean, good thing out of this is like, okay, the project isn't just dead, like dead, dead, dead, because Matt Reeves is taking, yeah, just going to the side, I guess. So it's nice that we are still getting this project. It's nice that he is still very much a part of the project, and Steven Soderbergh is going to be coming in there. Just like Steven Soderbergh, we got another man coming in at the 11th hour. I'm just going to add him.
Travis (1:43)
Well, he just adds me. What if I was butt ass naked in here?
Kirkland (1:46)
Dylan did it to me earlier. So, I saw a butt and I actually added him. I'm like, let's get this live.
Travis (1:54)
You can't see if I'm butt ass naked. Does that mean the full body definition? But I have a different camera on right now.
Kirkland (2:00)
I'm looking at my private camera that's underneath the desk.
Travis (2:02)
That's for the Patreon Ultra producers.
They get just a cam from above like a bird's eye view, wearing absolutely nothing at all, no clothing whatsoever. All right, Dylan's right in this situation, so I digress.
Kirkland (2:15)
Yes. Welcome, Travis. If you missed anything at all, I just basically gave the little snippet that you read out to me. I'm glad that you're here to fill myself in a little bit more on the details. I tried to learn more about it than I could, but I'm glad you're here.
Travis (2:31)
Did you try to learn more about it? Or do you just look at the headline?
Kirkland (2:34)
I learned who Steven Soderbergh was. I was like, okay, I got to at least know something this guy's done, I guess.
Travis (2:40)
Yeah.
Kirkland (2:41)
What has he done? That Matt Reeves put out there.
Travis (2:44)
Ocean's Eleven, he's done Aaron Brockovich, he's done Blackbeg, which was really great last year. He did Presence, which is an interesting film. It's a whole film from the point of view of a ghost. So it's Haunting the Ghost since first-person point of view.
He's been around since the late or early 90s, I'd say, doing stuff. He's done Oscar-winning award films. I don't think he's ever won an Oscar. I don't think so.
Kirkland (3:09)
Until now. Maybe.
Travis (3:11)
I don't know. It could have been for writing or something. But he has a long list of film and TV backgrounds of stuff.
Oh, no, he's won an Oscar. There you go. So an Oscar winner.
Dylan (3:21)
What did he win an Oscar for?
Travis (3:23)
Oh, I forgot. He won Best Director for Traffic, which lots of people say is his best film.
Dylan (3:28)
I don't know if I agree.
Travis (3:29)
Sexualizing Video Tape. That's an amazing film. Lots of great stuff.
Kirkland (3:33)
Yeah.
Travis (3:33)
The amply shut down hunt for Ben Solo that him and Am Driver try and do. I know it doesn't count, but they're trying to do it.
Kirkland (3:41)
So what a great project that could have been though. What a pairing.
Travis (3:44)
Yeah. Yeah. And look what we got here. No, no. I think these guys, I just wanted to bust in because I would have done a TTY and rant for 18 hours about Batman, as I always like to try and do. But I got sick twins. I'm fucking just cooped up here with hand, foot and mouth. They're cranky.
She's got like a big chin of just just rash. I'll keep this quick so I don't disturb these guys night. So yeah, this happened today. They first, it came out as a report from Deadline. And then Warner Bros released a statement. I'm going to assume that Deadline had the clearance. I don't think they just announced it. And then Warner Bros, I go, shit, we got to get this out there. I'm sure they just partner with somebody or that'd be really shitty. Most of the time, someone like Deadline would call and say, hey, we know the story. Should we run it? And they probably, okay, you're going to run it. Let us do X, Y, and Z.
