So today, we're going to be checking out StarNet, which is a new AI agent harness. You can see it right here. And this can run with local models too. It's basically like a pixel art station where you can see your AI agents. I will have a full guide on how to use it and everything else in a second. But if we open this up, for example, we can name our AI agent like, so you can see what it looks like here, we can change the appearance, we can change the personality, et cetera, as well as we go through. So for example, you can have it warm, or dry, or composed, or unhinged. And then you can switch between ask for approval or full power. So we just go for ask for approval, and then we connect a brain here. Now you can see here that we can sign in, or we can connect, for example, an API as well. So we can actually use our Clawdecode subscription with this, or we could use, for example, like Kimi or Grok, something like that. Let's try Grok now. So you can see here that we just have to sign in with Grok. Let's do that now. And that's set up. That was literally just a quick message here. And then we can also switch between the models. So we can add, I actually prefer Grok 4.6 to 4.7, honestly. And that's why I'm going to go with that. I wasn't very impressed with Grok 4.6. And then, for example, we can switch between high, medium, low, on the reasoning or max. So now we can click on this, and we've basically just created an AI agent in one or two clicks.
So it's waking up right now. So this is a free open source project, and you can use it with your existing subscriptions. This is all before you could plug in Claude CLI, you could plug in Grok, whatever you prefer. And you can see that it comes up with this nice animation when you set this up. Now, you might say, why would you want this? And I just think it's fun to play with. I don't think there's a massive amount of practical use cases for this, but it's fun to set up. And also the other thing I would say is when I've tested other sort of office style add-ons like this, they're not quite as nice as this, right? This is probably the most fun and the smoothest version that I've seen so far. So let's keep going through now.
You can see that we've given it the name and then it says, I'm awake, let's give this station a direction, blah, blah, blah. Okay, so you can see here is a very unique way of managing your AI agents. You can zoom in and zoom out. You can change the frame.
So for example, here, we can go full zoom, and you can see here that it says, everything you run lives in these four docs. So you can actually click to open them, and you can click to show everything, like so. And then you can move that around, zoom in, zoom out, and you can also see the level of your AI agent. So the more you use it, the more it levels up. So it's a fun game to use your AI agents. And then, for example, here, we can get all the details on our AI agent, what it does, right? So, for example, here's a model, here's a personality. We can change any of these as well at any time. So it's super easy to just change everything. We can manage the instructions for the agent, the purpose. It's like a 3D, it's like a Tamagotchi for an AI agent, isn't it? That's the way you look at it. And you can see here, you can change what access it has. So, for example, it could, do you want it to access your web, local files, etc? If so, you can allow it to. If not, you can delete that as well. And you can also change the approval prompts here as well. So everything, you can set approval levels on it too. So it doesn't like do something crazy in the background, or if you're not used to using it, then that's crazy. And then you can switch between the brief, the growth, the history of what it's done, which memories it's got saved as well. And then if you want to chat with it, you can just go over here. So, for example, we can have a short conversation, continue, and then it says, what made you want to set up an AI agent? We want to say, for helping me with S. And then we send that, and it's like, give me a moment, what you said. You can see it's online. We can see what level it is.
