Now it's time for Rebel Force Radio.

SPEAKER_1 (0:46)

We would be honored if you would join us.

Jason Swank (0:51)

Hey, everybody.

Look at us. We're back. Rebel Force Radio. Ready for another week of the best in Star Wars conversation, interview, speculation, all that good stuff. Star Wars news happens. We break it all down.

And we've got some more news. We're going to continue looking at what we know about Ahsoka Season 2 We also had some highlights last week of this Kathleen Kennedy interview, and we've got more from that interview. We told you that we would carry some of that over. We are going to do that. But in Starfighter news, has the name of the big bad in Starfighter been revealed? That's going to be part of our New York Comic Con coverage. As we look at what we may have learned from a recent publishing panel. So all that plus In The Cantina with another ILM great, Rose Duignan. Does that name sound familiar? If it does, well, you know why she's on Rebel Force Radio. If it doesn't, you'll find out when you listen to her interview here coming up with us a little bit later on in the program. So strap in. It's going to be a great show, as always, here at RFR. And by RFR, I mean, introductions are in order. If you're new to the show, my name is Jason. And with me, as always, my good friend and yours from Chicago, Jimmy Mac.

Jimmy Mac (2:15)

Hey, Jason. Hey, Star Wars fans. Glad to be back for more RFR going in the Cantina with another ILM great, Rose Duignan. Now, a lot of fans might recognize Rose. She was featured in all the promotional imagery for the Light and Magic series, the documentary series about ILM, Light and Magic. That was the name of it, wasn't it? Yeah, sure was. Two seasons.

SPEAKER_3 (2:45)

Really, really great.

Jimmy Mac (2:47)

Yes. And she's featured in the promo imagery for that series.

It shows George Lucas, and he's looking at, I think it's like one of those tables that light up, and he has slides on this table, presumably he's looking at frames of film, and she's right over his shoulder, kind of like, you know, looking in on what he's poking around there with all these slides and stuff. And so Rose is a part of that, and she's also featured in the documentary itself, and we're going to talk to her on Rebel Force Radio this week. There she is, young Rose. Jason found the picture I'm talking about.

Jason Swank (3:32)

I think we actually mentioned the photo to her at the top of the interview too, so.

Jimmy Mac (3:37)

Yeah, that's cool. So yeah, we talk about that. We talk about working with George Lucas, what it was like to work on Star Wars in those early days, and keeping all of those ILM geniuses in line. She tells stories about John Dykstra, from Dykstra to Noel, pretty much.

And some other greats mixed in between that she worked with throughout her tenure at Industrial Light Magic. So it's going to be cool to hear from her.

Jason Swank (4:07)

Yeah, it sure is. And a lot of that is, of course, all of that is from our time at the Rebel ScumCon earlier this summer, which was such a blast. Jim, I'm already seeing promotion for next year's Rebel ScumCon showing up on my feed. So they're not slowing down. In fact, they're just getting started. They've got a new venue, so they're going to expand. And so, yeah, great things happening. And we really enjoyed our time there. And we got to get to meet Rose and talk to her and bring that back to you all.

So I thought it was interesting that this was on the rundown, our next story here, because I have very rarely, you know, to do the streams between me and Rebel Force Radio cross with me in the day job. But every once in a while, you know, I mean, Star Wars is so, it's just part of the oxygen that we breathe in popular culture and in entertainment. And so it gets brought up from time to time. And then, of course, everybody looks at me as if I'm going to be like, well, you know, you said you mentioned Star Wars, which I don't do that. I don't do that. But I have friends at work that love to do that. And so this new guy, fairly new, he just mentioned that he just got a new Star Wars video game. And he really, really, really likes it. And my coworker goes, oh, well, did you know that Jason here hosts a Star Wars podcast?
