What up, my homie, this is your girl, Lisa Bilyeu, and I've got a question for you. That's so on point for how I think. I'm going to pose it to you, and I'm so curious of what you're going to think. All right, how many times have you actually walked away from a situation and thought, wait, hang on a minute, how did they get me to agree to that? Or, hang on, why didn't I even see that coming? Does that sound familiar? Well, with this episode, you will never ever say that again, because we're about to have a master class to understand human behaviour, human manipulation and yes, even seduction. That's right, we're peeling back the onion on all things, manipulation and seduction, on how men end up being able to influence us in ways that we don't even realise. I am joined by the one and only, the former CIA spy, Andrew Bustamante, who is the master of influence and a man who's actually been trained to spot these tactics. But he's also been trained to actually use those tactics on people in order to protect the United States. So we are diving deep into all the knowledge that he has of the tactics that he's learnt, the signs that he notices and then the tactics that he himself has used, so that we never find ourselves ever, ever, ever fricking trapped again. All right, so now down to Lennie Gritty. He is going to blow your fricking mind and change the way you see the world by breaking down the sneaky, almost invisible ways that people manipulate your emotions and then your decision making. He talks about how your brain sets you up to actually fall for influence traps without you even knowing it. And then finally we talk about the exact tools that you need to cut through the fricking podcast so that you can see the game that is being played and then take back your control. Guys, this isn't about being a spy while I fricking love the idea of being a spy. It's about building your toolkit for you to be able to stay in control, spotting the red flags and navigating relationships whether it's personal or intimate or business so that you can really understand and know how you can handle and control this scenario so that you can be proud of the person that you've always wanted to be. If you want to be a fricking badass, how on earth do you act like a badass? How does a badass think? What does a badass know? Look, badass is just my language, guys. What's that thing that you feel like you are powerless over? This is the episode on how you are able to take that control back. So if you're ready to learn how to actually step into that fricking power, own your choices and make damn sure that no one ever, ever takes advantage of you again, then get ready because we are about to go deep. Right here, right now, with Andrew Bustamante. I'm Lisa Bilyeu. Welcome to Women of Impact.

As a CIA spy, you were professionally trained in relationship and trust building. So what tactics do men use to seduce us women so that we can spot the manipulation before we get trapped?

Andrew Bustamante (3:29)

If I'm meeting with a female target, and that female target, to be very clear, when in espionage terms, when we talk about a target, I mean an individual who may have access to information that is of a priority for collection, for national security purposes. So when you're trying to get a target to build trust in you or to build connection with you, you want to use a system that triggers hormonal releases, hormonal releases that pair with emotional leads, and then hormones and emotional leads that creates a logical outcome, a logical response. So you're using biology, emotions, to lead to what seems like a logical response to them. Okay, so let's just say that I'm meeting with a female. Now first of all, if I'm meeting with a target, chances are I know more about the target than the target knows about me, because I've been researching them. So let's just say I meet with a female who I already know likes Taylor Swift.
