Hey, what's going on, everybody?
It's June 12th, 2026 It's a Friday, Friday. Almost at the end of the week, but we got one more live show to get through before we get there. So with me today is, I know it sounded like that was a chore. I don't mean it as a chore. It's all fun. I just mean we have one more show before the weekend. With me today is Beth and Andy and I'm Brian. And we have literally, as we were doing this, checking on the SpaceX IPO, which based on our sleuthing, says it should have gone live on the NASDAQ 10 minutes ago, which would have been 9:50 a.m. Eastern time. So we're checking on that to see if anything pops up there. And we'll get into all that as the show evolves because it'd be interesting to see what kind of pop we see. If everybody remembers, it was coming in at 1.35. But there was much more complex and many more things involved with the IPO and stuff. So really what a lot of people, as I understand it, Andy, Beth, please correct me if I'm wrong here. I never claimed to be a financial whiz.
But the way I understand it is today could be one of those days and not in the next 10 minutes. But it could be a reflection, a mirror as to what the market in general feels about AI. And it could be an indicator depending on how the stock goes today. We obviously expect it to pop a little bit. That typically happens. It'll come in above 135
Average from what I read could be as much as 20 percent. And then it adjusts. We'll see what happens. But also it's more that it could just be an indicator long term both for, well, Anthropic as well as opening eyes eventual IPOs themselves. So I don't know if you guys have any more to add on that, but that's sort of where my brain is on this and why for our audience, why it's important to be following this.
**Andy** (1:55)
Well, it hasn't started trading yet. It's still sitting at 135, which is their priced value of it. And when it starts trading, it'll jump up because there'll be people who will believe that it's inherently long term, much higher than that. But there are a lot of people who are saying that it's overpriced, even at $135 a share. That's the $1.75 trillion opening.
And I'm not so sure that it's a direct reflection of the AI component, which is the XAI piece, that SpaceX is all that because I think if I were going to place a bet on SpaceX, it would be because it's really the principal launch vehicle for the US government and for anyone wanting to put payloads in space, including XAI. And so the SpaceX piece of it, the original SpaceX piece of it, I think has some value, but also Starlink. Starlink is a really valuable company that's buried into this group of things that make up now the public offering of SpaceX. XAI is a small part of that and can't be valued very highly in my view. If you're going to play AI, I wouldn't buy SpaceX to play AI.
**Brian** (3:25)
Right.
**Andy** (3:26)
That's the point.
**Brian** (3:27)
Yeah. No, I think it's a valid point. And you're right.
It's not an Anthropic, which is only in the AI space. It's a component of it.
I saw this from somebody, and I will find her name when I have a second here. I've been really enjoying the content on TikTok from a particular woman who does a very Nate Jones. She sort of leans on a couch and she talks to the camera. There's nothing fancy. There's no quick edits. I tend to like them. They're longer form. They're probably five, six minutes. And I do like the way she explains different things going on in AI space, but she also touches into some other areas as well. And she, I'll find her name so other people could follow her too if you like, but she mentioned this website and it's literally spacexipo.com. That's not, somebody else didn't create that. That's actually created by SpaceX. And what she was saying, I haven't watched it here.
It's right now, it's just like a movie of all the different things that SpaceX has evolved in. But what she was saying is like, when you click watch now, that's the CFO immediately starting with what the mission is, which is to be a multi-planet species to go to Mars. And like she said, it's an inspiring video if nothing else, because if you are like, well, what exactly is SpaceX doing? It's a great summary of what they're working on. To your point, Andy, about, you know, they're in the internet space, they're in that, right? They're in different areas as well as AI. But it starts with the mission of SpaceX, which is to put humans on Mars and so, or be multi-planetary. So I think that's important and probably goes back to your point, Andy, as you were saying, this is not a straight AI IPO, but it could have indicators. It could. There's a lot that could be, you know, there'll be people who will be on shows, CNBCs of the world and Foxes of the world, who will talk about this for the rest of the day. And they'll have all sorts of different opinions and pieces. And that's not what we're really here to do. We're here to talk about the AI, or talk about AI and different news, but it's happening today. So it's worth mentioning as we see it kind of move over the course of the show today.
