Are all batteries the same?
That's like asking if all soccer players are the same. Take Messi, the most decorated player ever. Is there any other player who has achieved that? No, just him. Now take Duracell. Is there any other battery with power boost ingredients inside? No, just Duracell. Remember, goats only trust goats, because they're built different. And Messi, only trusts Duracell.

Welcome to The Debate. So the $2 trillion SpaceX initial public offering and just a wave of mergers and acquisitions advisory work are really lifting earnings for Wall Street banks like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

**SPEAKER_5** (1:45)
Right. And you watch a stock jump 19% on its first day. And the immediate reaction is just to call it a financial success. But if you actually look at the mechanics of the listing, professional traders read the event as a disappointment.

**SPEAKER_4** (1:59)
Yeah. And we are looking at a market report right now that highlights this exact friction, right, between the headline success and the reality on the trading floor.

**SPEAKER_5** (2:07)
Exactly.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:08)
So we're going to use this source material to debate what this means for the market overall. My position is that this surge in trading activity is the start of a durable capital market cycle.

**SPEAKER_5** (2:19)
In my stance, looking at the exact same data, is that we are basically witnessing the final leg of a tech bubble.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:27)
Right. So the central question we have to answer is whether the fees generated by this IPO volatility are actually building a sustainable earnings engine for the banks.

**SPEAKER_5** (2:36)
Or if the underlying tech valuations are just fundamentally flawed and about to collapse.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:42)
Yeah. And to understand the bank revenue, you have to look at the market phase. I'd argue we are in a maturation phase, not a bubble.

**SPEAKER_5** (2:49)
Okay.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:50)
If you pull up the data on the Magnificent 7 stocks, they have not traded this cheaply relative to the rest of the S&P 500 since 2015

**SPEAKER_5** (2:57)
Well, the word cheap is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:01)
Fair enough.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:02)
I mean, they are trading at different multiples because their core business models completely changed.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:09)
Right. But that change is exactly my point. For years, Big Tech operated with almost zero marginal cost.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:16)
Sure.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:17)
They built a piece of software once and distributed it infinitely without paying for physical materials. And that low capital intensity model commanded a premium over traditional equities.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:27)
Right. Which makes sense.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:29)
But now, they are pouring tens of billions into heavy capital expenditures to build artificial intelligence data centers. So the market is pricing them almost like average industrial stocks because of that physical spend.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:42)
Which is fair, considering the risk involved in building physical infrastructure.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:47)
The capital requirements are just entirely different now. It is fair, but investors are kind of misinterpreting the risk.
These companies are not just buying servers. They are acting as AI orchestrators.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:58)
Orchestrators meaning what exactly?

**SPEAKER_4** (4:00)
Meaning their earnings growth is structurally insulated from the commoditization of the actual large language models. The models themselves are becoming much cheaper to run.

**SPEAKER_5** (4:09)
Yeah, we're saying that.

**SPEAKER_4** (4:10)
Right, open source models are driving the cost of generating text or images down to essentially zero. Developers can download them locally and bypass API fees entirely.
