Yeah, that's right. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

John Winchester (1:43)

Born and raised right here in Tucson. This is home. I've never lived anywhere else. Traveled a lot, traveled for work a lot. But Tucson's home.

Watched it develop and change over the last 40 years.

Ron Arenas (1:56)

Man, and it's changed so much.

John Winchester (1:58)

It certainly has. I know it's always funny because I do quite a bit of work with folks from Pima Community College. I grew up at 4th Avenue and 2nd Street, so pretty close to their downtown campus.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (2:08)

Yeah.

John Winchester (2:10)

I remember, I always tell them like, I remember when your marquee was Pizza Hut.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (2:15)

Yes. Yes.

John Winchester (2:16)

Right there on the corner. We used to go there to get pizza.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (2:18)

Yeah.

John Winchester (2:19)

And the rest of the downtown campus was trailers.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (2:23)

I went to the downtown campus. Yeah. I went to Pizza Hut was there. That's right.

John Winchester (2:27)

So it's come a long way.

Will Peña (2:31)

Man, you guys are old.

John Winchester (2:32)

Yeah. Hey, man.

Only my wife could tell me that.

Will Peña (2:38)

Well, she told me this morning to tell you that.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (2:40)

She called me a little while ago. She's like, just tell him.

Will Peña (2:43)

Stick him with her.

Ron Arenas (2:44)

Tell him the truth.

John Winchester (2:46)

But yeah, Tucson's home, went to the U of A and Pima. I grew up four blocks from the U of A, so being down there at 4th Avenue and 2nd Street, I was on the street in 97 when the Wildcats won the National Championship.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (3:00)

Okay.

John Winchester (3:00)

So I watched them burn that bar down.

Dr. Jesus Bernal (3:03)

Just watched, right? Just watched.

John Winchester (3:06)

I was not involved, but I did see the smoke. No, my mom was a cardiac ICU nurse and she worked nights, so she was not home.

And so that's why I was where I was not supposed to be.

But yeah, man, grew up hanging out on campus. I know the U of A area really well, Time Pizza or Time Market. I used to get pizza a lot at Time Market. But this is home. This is home. My family lives here. My siblings, most of my siblings, I've got seven siblings, six sisters. Wow. I appreciate, I do that for the sympathy.
