Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Southwest Flavor. Happy Thursday to all of you. We have a great show for you this morning, and we have a special guest co-host today, Tim Wagner, from ACI Starlink Installers.

Tim Wagner (0:26)

Yeah. Good morning. Good morning, everyone.

Ron Arenas (0:28)

Yeah, how you doing?

Tim Wagner (0:29)

Doing very well.

Ron Arenas (0:30)

Good. Thank you for making the trek across Tucson.

Tim Wagner (0:33)

Oh, it's not much of a trek. You come from Southern California. It's like driving there is a much different experience.

SPEAKER_5 (0:39)

So driving here is a pleasure.

Ron Arenas (0:40)

That's true.

SPEAKER_5 (0:41)

That's true.

Ron Arenas (0:41)

Even with all the road construction and everything that we complain about.

Dodging the potholes and dodging the potholes. Yes, there's many of them throughout Tucson. Yeah, the roads are a little bit better here in Marana. Yeah, definitely.

Tim Wagner (0:54)

And they're doing a great job, really, with the inner city, with the neighborhoods.

SPEAKER_5 (0:59)

They have. Yeah, they have.

Tim Wagner (1:00)

It's been really nice to drive all those smooth streets. I just wish it had hit some of the major streets.

Ron Arenas (1:05)

Yes, some of those major arteries throughout Tucson.

SPEAKER_5 (1:07)

Yeah, exactly.

Ron Arenas (1:08)

Yeah. So tell us a little bit about ACI. Okay.

Tim Wagner (1:11)

So ACI has been around for about going on four years, I think now.

So I owned a commercial IT solutions company, managed businesses networks for 26 years. I sold that business to one of my employees, and in the process of that started this Starlink installs. And so we've been installing now for the last three plus years, a thousand plus installs all over the state of Arizona. So that's kind of our territory is comes down to if you're willing to pay a trip charge to have us come and do your install, then we're happy to do it on residential, commercial, we do RVs. I've done everything but an airplane. Oh, okay. I even had a chance, a guy at the Tuboc Art Festival, we had a booth set up there and he wanted to get Starlink in his plane and it was a carbon fiber body, which Starlink will go through. You can't put anything on the outside of a plane without FAA regulations or approval, but you can put it mounted inside and it'll work. So, yeah. And so, yeah, I actually, I've run with a Starlink Mini on my dashboard every day.

It just sits up in the dashboard. I plug it into a battery pack and then the battery pack goes into the cigarette lighter because my truck, when you turn the ignition off, it shuts off the power. I want the Starlink to stay on. Oftentimes when I'm doing an install, I want that connectivity to keep them up and running.

Ron Arenas (2:46)

Because you need to connect and you need to, once you install it, you need to connect everything.

SPEAKER_5 (2:50)

Correct. Yeah.

Tim Wagner (2:52)

So it works great. I mean, I love telling perspective people, they're like, how good is the service? And they're talking about their home or their business. And I said, well, let me tell you how good it is from a mobile standpoint and then you can kind of gauge that it's better at your home or business. And that is, I can have it, it's supposed to face north. I can have it in my dash driving back from Phoenix doing 80 miles an hour, I get 200 megs down consistently, never lose a phone call, never lose streaming services. Of course, you know what I'm streaming to, right?

So always, you know, there's some podcast on, but right. And so it just works flawlessly.

Weather that's not affected by weather.

Ron Arenas (3:37)

Yeah, I remember, you know, in the 20 years ago, you know, when you had DirecTV or Dish TV, if there's a big storm, your your TV would get interrupted. Yeah.

SPEAKER_5 (3:47)

Yeah.

Ron Arenas (3:47)

So I mean, that's not not the case.

Tim Wagner (3:49)

Not the case here. And one of the biggest tells is most of our customers that are kind of down in the Rio Rico to Bach area, you know, they get a different type of storm than we do. They oftentimes get a heavier.

SPEAKER_5 (4:03)

Yeah. Yeah, they get.

Ron Arenas (4:04)

They definitely get more rain and more storms than we do.
