Hey, what's happening, everybody? Welcome to October now. And that's exciting. It's spooky season. And by that, I mean PlayStation 5 Pros are sold out everywhere, and now they are $1300.

Congratulations, you made it. $1400 for a used PlayStation 5 Pro at multiple locations here. This, I just saw this this morning.

Yeah, the PS5 Pro sold out directly from PlayStation, and just about everywhere else that I can find, everywhere I've looked, the new PS5 Pros have been out of stock, and now they want $1400 bones for one.

I guess if we had to assign a cause to this, it is probably like, is this just a Grand Theft Auto situation, right? A run on the console combined with the kind of ongoing sales pressure.

It's not good for a console to be this far out of this, this out of stock everywhere as we roll into a holiday season. Grand Theft Auto or otherwise, I know the sales of the consoles had started to, I think even Xbox has seen something of a lift.

You know, as pre-orders and things like that opened up for Grand Theft Auto.

And so my guess here is that that absorbed all of the stock of new consoles, not really left with the impression of, with the impression that like this is, you know, I don't think Sony is making a change. At first, when I saw it, I was like, oh, well, whatever. I just saw a PS5 in stock. Like I think I was in a Best Buy. I thought I saw one there. But now that I'm looking on their website, like they're sold out in store, like all of that sort of stuff too. And my first thought though was like, oh, is this some kind of like, is just GameStop doing this because these are going to be on lower firmware and people want to hack a PS5 Pro, need low firmware to do so? Is it some kind of like opportunistic move by them? And then you look around and target, is it the same price? Like pretty much everyone with used, everyone selling used consoles is at that $1400 number or thereabouts. And yeah, that's rough stuff. And as I started to dig around for new consoles, they are nowhere to be found.

PC Rich has them for $1300, for new ones? Yeah, I mean, are people just gonna, like is this just gonna be like, hey, we know that people want to play Grand Theft Auto, and so we're going to jack up these prices temporarily to do that? So yeah, that's...

It's great, I think it's great when actual retailers, I think it's great when real stores act like, act like they're StockX also, and just like fucking say fuck it. We know you'll, we know that there's some person who will pay this amount of money, maybe it's not you, but there's someone out there who will. I'm going to check, I think Walmart is the last place I didn't, I have checked here. So let's look here real quick. $1,500.

$1,554.99 arrives in three plus days, only one left. If you want one that's in a bundle with a disk drive, they've got that as well. Okay, here's, oh no, that's out of stock. I was going to say, if you want to buy one that is bundled with the gray DualSense controller, they had a bundle of that for $930.

Regular console is still in stock, but if you want to be a professional, the world's response to you is fuck off, I think. I think that's how that's working right now. It's important to note as well that all of these, you know, Walmart and all of these other companies like started their own third-party selling operations. So when you go look at Walmart, you find like multiple listings for a PS5, like they saw what Amazon was doing and was like, we want a piece of that, and then built it worse. Like, I don't think the way Amazon does it is especially good. The way they will, you know, they'll have the same product for multiple sellers, and sometimes that is at multiple prices and shipping differences and all of this other stuff. I don't think that third-party marketplace is especially good, and it is occasionally deceptive, let's say, but man, the way Walmart built it makes you long for the efficiency of Amazon's fucked up system, because what Walmart built is straight dog shit.
