We are the average of people we spend the most time with. My name is Matthieu Stefani, and I invite entrepreneurs, athletes and artists to raise my average, and yours. Just before we begin this episode, I'll switch to French for a brief moment to thank my sponsors. A big part of your narrative and value proposition, I would say, is based on a dream, right?
And it's the name of the company, right?

**Simon Squibb** (0:31)
Yeah, it is.

**Matthieu Stefani** (0:32)
And the problem I see with my friends or people who listen to us is mostly like, yeah, I want to be an entrepreneur. I mean, I so want to try this, but I have no idea. I have no dream. And you're like, come on. I mean, you must have something, right?
I guess it's something you face all the time with your videos, because most of the time when we see you, when I see you on Instagram or on TikTok, you go to someone and we see him or her saying, always, you say, what's your dream? So that's the question you ask everyone. And they always go, my dream is, you know, but you must see like 80% of them saying, I don't know.

**Simon Squibb** (1:19)
Well, I've done it all over the world.
It's been a cultural survey.
So in America, every single person has a dream. I have not met someone in America. I went up to someone who's trying to get food out of the bin and asked them their dream, they've got a dream. Every single person in America has a dream because they're literally born in to this concept of the American dream. The American dream is so prevalent. It's talked about at home, right? What's your American dream? The American dream is defined, right? As kind of almost like an entrepreneur journey.

**Matthieu Stefani** (1:47)
And their answer is instant.

**Simon Squibb** (1:49)
Instant. In England, I would say 60% of people don't have a dream. On average, I would say approximately. I'm talking about, I've interviewed 10,000 people, right? So my survey sample is bigger than most CNN surveys.
But what I've noticed with the English mindset is there's a huge debt problem. So the brain is in fight or flight for a lot of people in Britain.
They don't have the capacity for imagination because they're fight or flight. The lion's coming towards them, i.e. they can't pay their bills, they can't eat, they're worried about their rent. Their brain won't let them think about anything other than getting away from the lion that's coming towards them. They're in fight or flight.

**Matthieu Stefani** (2:33)
But does that mean they don't have a dream or they don't know their dream?

**Simon Squibb** (2:35)
It means that they have had no time to think about their dream.

**Matthieu Stefani** (2:38)
So at the end, they don't have anything?

**Simon Squibb** (2:41)
They will. If they could stop running away from the lion and just calm down, i.e. not have two jobs, not have to like be on the treadmill to survive.
They have a dream because everyone has a thing they're good at. Everybody has a thing they care about if they're given time to think about it. And so in France, by the way, I've seen a slightly different thing and I'm being very general. But what I noticed in France is they've got too many options.
So they've got the kind of like would like to own a house dream. I'd like to get a good job dream. I want to have a nice car dream. There's a lot of materialistic structural things in France. A lot of the time, like in Hong Kong, most people...

**Matthieu Stefani** (3:21)
I would have hoped it wasn't true like this.

**Simon Squibb** (3:23)
I mean, this is very disappointing. I'm being very general. I mean, I don't think it's... The thing is a lot of people in France...

**Matthieu Stefani** (3:28)
It's true. I'm not saying it's wrong.

**Simon Squibb** (3:29)
There's a bit of a... Almost like I see a hierarchy in France of class.

**Matthieu Stefani** (3:36)
I'd say the house must be very true. I mean, I don't know, ownership of your flat or your house in France, it's just like everyone. That's for sure.
But I would have said the car or all of these would be more American than French. But what you're saying is that in the US, their dreams are more like, I want to be this, I want to do that job, I want more than...

**Simon Squibb** (4:03)
In America, there's a lot of problem-solving. A lot of people want to solve problems that they have experienced.
