That's with Tom Brady calling the shots for one of the 32 NFL franchises, despite having a job that requires him to broadcast for all 32 NFL franchises. Kind of a quote, tough look. It seems like it's only getting tougher because this week, some of the news I didn't mention off the jump, Kirk Cousins named the Raiders starting quarterback for some reason. I can't really say. I get this one. I think we do know now how it happened though. It sounds like it was maybe up to one guy who is not the Raiders coach or not the Raiders GM. Tell us about the process that landed, quote, El Kirko under center in LV.

**Denny Carter** (1:39)
I mean, part of the process was Clint Kubiak, the first-time head coach of the Raiders, saying that telling reporters very openly, this is not like a bombshell report from inside the organization or something. It is the coach saying, yes, I talk with Tom Brady several times a week about who we should start a quarterback, whether it's Fernanda Mendoza, the number one overall pick or Kirk Cousins. And they, I guess, felt more comfortable with Cousins. But really, yeah, this is unseemly.
It's not good. It was funny. It was funny for a while. Tom Brady, the announcer, giving some advice on draft picks and scheme and stuff. But when you get down to like Tom Brady, the decider of who starts week one, I'm uncomfortable. I don't like it.

**Patrick Daugherty** (2:30)
Kyle, Tom Brady works for Fox. He won't be calling many Raiders games, most of which are on CBS. Although there's all kinds of cross flexing and stuff now.
Almost to the point where it feels like he could be calling down during the game or he could be like, can we put the Fox feed on the Stadium PA real quick and we got a bench Trey Tucker. Trey Tucker headed to the bench here. Do you share or Denny and I being quote boomers?

Tom Brady, of course, actually told us. Tell us.

**Patrick Daugherty** (2:54)
Are we being boomers or is this not cool in your opinion?

**Kyle Dvorchak** (2:58)
No. This is clearly in some ways unethical, but unlike Jenny, I'm still at funny unethical. Frankly, I'm still getting a kick out of it. Maybe it'll wear off at some point because like Denny said, it was cute at the beginning. I'm still in the cute phase. I'm still quite enjoying this saga.

I think it's going to remain funny unethical because it's just not going to work.

**Kyle Dvorchak** (3:18)
That's probably also true.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:20)
You're not barnstorming around the country, calling a different game every week and still successfully manipulating the Raiders roster like determining the fate of the organization. It just has no chance whatsoever of working.

**Denny Carter** (3:32)
I am just confused as to why Tom Brady doesn't just beat the GM, like just go be the GM.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:39)
Or just be the 20 million a year Fox guy. Have you ever thought of that?

**Denny Carter** (3:42)
No, no, no.
He wants to be part of the game. You're not really part of the game if you're an announcer.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:48)
You're part of the game. You're one of the biggest parts of the game when you're one of the lead announcers.

**Kyle Dvorchak** (3:52)
I think it's a matter of control that would be the bother for him. He wants to have an element of control over the Raiders where I don't think he could ever give that up. I mean, obviously, he had a lot of say on the teams he was in the NFL. I think there's a level of ego that he would have to...
He'd be incapable of putting aside if he wasn't working within an NFL team pulling the strings from behind the curtain.

And to now, it's catching on. It's going viral because Troy Aikman doing the same thing for the Dolphins. And speaking of funny unethical, Troy's justification for doing the Dolphins thing is, they're too bad for it to matter. We're never going to even be calling Dolphins games anyways.
