Sindhu Vee (Tasting Menu)

Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster

July 29, 2026

Another fan favourite returns to the Dream Restaurant, and this time it’s straight-talking stand-up Sindhu Vee, all the way back from episode 15. Will she have more words of wisdom like ‘to the hungry person even the doorway looks like crisps’?
Speakers: Ed Gamble, James Acaster, Sindhu Vee

Welcome to the Off Menu Podcast, Tasting Menu, James.

**James Acaster** (0:16)
It's a tasting menu where we get a fan favorite back on the pod, and we give them the menu of another fan favorite, and they react to it. It's a fan favorite-a-thon.

**Ed Gamble** (0:25)
It's a fan favorite-a-thon, and the fan favorite we are interviewing today is the wonderful Sindhu Vee. OG fan favorite.

**James Acaster** (0:32)
An OG fan. I mean, this is maybe the first series we did. Sindhu was on it.

**Ed Gamble** (0:38)
Episode 7

**James Acaster** (0:38)
People absolutely loved Sindhu's episode. It was one of the earliest episodes got talked about all over the internet. All over the internet.

**Ed Gamble** (0:46)
Yes, all over the net. That's the last time James was on the net, by the way. It was back in episode 15 of this pod, but we will be giving Sindhu the menu of another guest. And the choice here is always, do we want to give our guest a menu that will annoy them, or a menu that they will like, or a menu that they can discuss a lot about?
And it depends on who they are. And Sindhu is really funny when she's annoyed.

**James Acaster** (1:13)
We will try our best to annoy Sindhu. Fingers crossed it will work.

**Ed Gamble** (1:17)
Yeah, I wonder. Sometimes I annoy her by breathing, I think.

**James Acaster** (1:21)
Yeah, it's very easy to annoy Sindhu. She offered to send me some mangoes the other day, and I asked how many, and she was like, what kind of a question is that? Yeah, that's true. It's very ungrateful. I thought it was quite a reasonable question.

**Ed Gamble** (1:33)
Ungrateful. No secret ingredient, because it's a tasting menu. Sindhu has to stay in here for the long haul.

**James Acaster** (1:39)
Swanky.

**Ed Gamble** (1:41)
Swanky is the name of her tour, of course. They've added more dates. They keep adding dates to this tour, doing so well.

**James Acaster** (1:48)
Into 2027 Into 2027 Get yourself some tickets.

**Ed Gamble** (1:52)
Go to sindhuvee.com and you can get tickets for that. Hopefully, it's coming to a town near you. But let's get on with it. This is the Off Menu Tasting Menu of Sindhu Vee.
Welcome back, Sindhu, to the Dream Restaurants.

**James Acaster** (2:11)
Good to see you again, Sindhu.

**Sindhu Vee** (2:13)
Hi, I'm so happy to be back.

**James Acaster** (2:15)
Welcome back.

**Ed Gamble** (2:16)
You're here for a tasting menu, of course. I bet it tastes good.
I wasn't aware of the concept until you just arrived, which is, I think, how we like it, isn't it, James?

**James Acaster** (2:25)
Yeah, yeah. It's how we like it.

**Ed Gamble** (2:27)
That you don't know what's going on until we start, really?

**James Acaster** (2:29)
Yeah.

**Sindhu Vee** (2:30)
And also then it's spontaneous. Unless like there's a lot of prep, like quadratics, which I doubt in this.

**Ed Gamble** (2:36)
There's no prep. It's not like quadratics. I don't even know what that is.

**James Acaster** (2:39)
No, I don't know what that is.

**Sindhu Vee** (2:40)
It's algebra.

**Ed Gamble** (2:41)
Algebra.

**James Acaster** (2:42)
Okay.

**Ed Gamble** (2:42)
No, it's nothing like algebra. We rarely like algebra here on the Off Menu podcast. We like to keep it spontaneous, but we also, we didn't want you to say too much before we started recording, because you were telling us that you got hair botox, and I want to talk about it on the podcast.

**James Acaster** (2:55)
Sure.

**Sindhu Vee** (2:56)
Yeah, I thought it was not relevant for your food podcast that I got hair botox, but I did.

**Ed Gamble** (3:01)
What you'll learn about the tasting menu is yes, we'll be talking about food. We will be giving you the menu of a previous guest, but also we're willing to sort of spin off in multiple directions. It's just an excuse to talk to you again, Sindhu.

**James Acaster** (3:11)
We'll see how you've been since we saw you last, which was all the way back in series one, I believe.

**Ed Gamble** (3:15)
Yes.

**James Acaster** (3:15)
So knowing that now you have hair botox and your hair looks different is quite exciting for the listener. A little viewer on YouTube.

**Sindhu Vee** (3:24)
It's like that. So what happened was, my hair has become very frizzy.

**Ed Gamble** (3:28)
Okay.

**Sindhu Vee** (3:29)
And it's partly age and it's partly that it's been processed a lot because when you do filming, they do different things to your hair and they don't care. Yeah. They only want you to look like that character. What happens to you after? They don't care.
