Should You Ditch Your Keyboard and Mouse?
The Daily AI Show
October 6, 2026
The episode opened with a look at how much easier personal AI agents have become to use. Anne argued that the friction around prompting, connectors and setup has dropped enough that this may be the best moment yet for knowledge workers to begin using AI.

Hey, what's going on, everybody?

Welcome to The Daily AI Show. Today is October 6th, 2026, and with me today on this lovely Tuesday are Andy and Anne, and Beth, and Brian. That starts to feel like I'm old enough to remember Romper, Bumper, Stomper, Boo. Tell me, who do we have? Who can I see through my magic? It was like a mirror, a circle. No, nobody. Nobody remembers that. It was just me. It was a children's show, and she had a magic mirror, and she would call out the people, and you got very excited in the 80s if she said, I see Brian. If she said your name on this show by random, you were so excited. Of course, that wouldn't work in today's because it would be, I see ocean and river and Rivian.
I was on the show.
Now, I need to know, Brian, did she, so Brian from our comments just said, I was on the show, Brian, I don't even remember the name of the show.
It had a very 80s name, if I remember right, with rainbow or something in it. But I have to know that. I have to know if she called out your name. Did she say your name? When she was looking at them today, because it was kids in the audience If. I remember right, this is going way back.
Beth Lyons (1:18)
I remember too. Wrong room, wrong room.
Brian Maucere (1:20)
Let's see Brian's the best. Thank you, Brian, for jumping in so quickly with that. Okay, well, I was saying I felt like proper room because the host in that show used to call out the name. So I see Andy and Anne and Beth, and I'm Brian.
So anyway, The Daily AI Show, we're here every weekday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern. So glad you're here with us like Brian and others in the comments on YouTube. So if you want to join us live and you have the time someday, if you're around, come join us on YouTube. That's the fastest way to be part of the conversation live. And if you can't do that, they come join us in our community. You can go to the dailyaishowcommunity.com.
It's a Slack community. It's free. But it's just another great way to interact with us. So and I didn't say that because I said it was my own insecurities for it. I'll say at the beginning of the show, too, because Gwen was in the comments yesterday and Beth was forgetting on my case about this. Hey, if you like this show, you should like and subscribe. And I wouldn't even add any more caveats to that. You should just do it. You should just do it if you like what we're doing. And if this is your very first day.
Beth Lyons (2:23)
I'm so proud of you, Brian.
Anne (2:25)
This is a big moment for us.
Brian Maucere (2:27)
It takes everything I have not to add a caveat to that. Everything I have. In fact, I'm just going to throw it over to you guys because I just need to expand and I won't. So and you're here with us. I'll kick it off with you. I always like to start with you and see how your last week's going because you're usually here on Tuesdays when you can. So what's been going on in your AI world over the last week or so?
Anne (2:50)
Well, my AI world, I think if you boil it all down to one nugget, I believe that right now, like today is the very best day to start working in AI if you are a knowledge worker. If you are a knowledge worker and you have never opened up ChatGPT or Gemini or Claude or anything, I think that since Dev Day hit and some of the personal AI agents are like, it seems like they are tweaking pretty fast and they are so incredibly user friendly that we have removed so much friction for, you know, I'm just going to use knowledge worker as like the avatar rather than like the lifestyle, you know, use cases. But if you're a knowledge worker, you know, you don't really need to learn. We skipped over prompting. We don't really need to know how to prompt super thoroughly when we're using our personal AI agent.
We don't have to go through all of the care and feeding to get all of our accounts set up and every single our connectors, I mean, and our connectors and our resources. Because things just get hooked up much more easily, right? Now we're like, it's more about telling it, no, don't connect to this thing. When in the beginning, it was kind of a big ordeal to get your various accounts connected to your AI. You're able to kind of absent mindedly work with AI, I think with the personal AI agents. I think that that's an important distinction, is that yes, we need to do more human in the looping on the back end, but that setup friction is so light. It's like a mild form of friction. So I've really been digging into comparing and contrasting the different personal AI agent options, playing with them to the extent that I maintain my attention span, and just really loving the way that I can work. Loving what my day looks like when I'm using a personal AI agent. I know that they're not ubiquitous, right? Like you may not just be able to find your personal agent that's perfect for you right away, because some are costly, some operate on models you don't want to use. They all have their little things. But if you do a little bit of experimentation and there are like every, we love every, every has some nice comparing and contrasting that they've done with the different, they've got this beautiful, delicious chart that goes down all of the different personal AI agents and what the benefits are.
