Hello, everybody. Welcome to another episode of the Locked On Blue Devils podcast. My name is JJ Jackson. So great to have you here with us today on this Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, Locked On Blue Devils is your one stop shop where we discuss everything going on inside the life of Duke Athletics. And on today's show, super excited to be breaking down all the latest news and headlines about Duke basketball with our good pal Raul Clement from the Devils Den podcast. Duke announced earlier today, the newest edition of the Brotherhood Run as Tommy Amaker, the head coach of Harvard set to come back to Cameron Indoor to take on Jon Scheyer and this year's Duke team.
Really cool opportunity for both of those guys that we'll be able to discuss throughout today's show and then towards the end, let's talk a little Duke basketball recruiting with some interesting updates to dive into at the end of the program. Here is Raul Clement joining us on the show today. It is great to see you my friend. The calendar has turned to August. We are getting closer to Duke basketball season and it helps when you've got a full schedule in place in order to do that. It's awesome to see another game added to the docket. I hope you're doing well my friend.

Again, just staying out of the heat as much as I can. Got my coffee here so I'm ready to energize, ready to talk Duke basketball.

Yeah, absolutely. It's going to be a great show today and excited to talk about this newest game on the schedule for Duke with Tommy Amaker leading the Harvard Crimson Team and they are coming to Cameron Indoor. This has been a really fun thing that Duke has done over the last several seasons with these brotherhood runs. It shows the reach of head coach Mike Shashevsky that he's got so many former players, so many former assistant coaches on his staff that are now leading their own programs and Duke feeling comfortable enough to bring them back in to Cameron Indoor coaching their new team, whether it be exhibitions, whether it be regular season contests. I think this is such a, I almost want to say mature move by head coach John Scheyer, not letting any egos get involved, truly being a Duke Brotherhood thing. This is really special and it continues, Raul.

**Raul Clement** (2:45)
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, last year we had what? Niagara and Howard coming to the building. You also had the exhibition game against UCF, though I guess that wasn't technically part of the Brotherhood run, but yet another former alumni there and Johnny Dawkins. So it'd be great to get Amaker back in Harvard. I don't know how they'll compare to Howard and Niagara last year. Those games were pretty much blowouts from start to finish, but then Howard went on to have a nice season afterwards. So it'd be great to have...
Even if the game does end up being one-sided, I think it's just always cool to have the former alumni back in the building and kind of see the pre-game honoring and all that kind of stuff. For sure.

Yeah, Harvard is a team that a season ago went 17 and 12, overall 10 and four in Ivy League play. So to your point, not the biggest opposition for this Duke team. And Duke certainly is going to be a very, very large favorite once that ball is tipped up into the air and this game plays out. But it's just the special ability to have someone who played at Duke from 1983 to 1987, and now is still coaching at the D1 level to be able to come back and take part in the Brotherhood Run series. I mean, that's just something that's really, really cool. Amaker, of course, won two national championships on the 91 and 92 staffs with head coach Mike Zyshevsky. So really fun that he's been able to be a part of the Duke family and gets to come back as the head coach of his own program.

Yeah, I mean, it might, Amaker might be, I'm guessing a little bit before your time as a watcher of Duke basketball.
