John Hansen (1:15)

Hey, what's up? It's John Hansen and Brian Drake and I are back. A mid-week edition of the Fantasy Points Podcast coming out of week one. Several players have emerged as viable buy low and viable sell high candidates. I know it's early. We're trying not to overreact, but we do have some recommendations here on the podcast. Thanks for subscribing and tuning in every weekend. As always, you are welcome.

Brian Drake (1:53)

All across the Fantasy Universe, welcome to the Wednesday Fantasy Points Podcast. Brian Drake alongside the guru, John Hansen. John, every Wednesday, we are going to dive into one of your trademark articles, something that puts you on the map, and really, no matter where you've been, but lately at fantasypoints.com, one of your most successful articles, Players to Trade and Trade For. And I'm excited to have the opportunity to talk through it with you every single week, and I think that our audience is going to get a big kick out of it. And John's going to reveal, you know, eight to ten of the players you should be trading and trading for, and then the rest of the players can go over to fantasypoints.com and read the full article. But John, this is something new for us and it's something exciting. It's a great idea on your part.

John Hansen (2:38)

Yeah, and over the years, I think I've gotten pretty good at it, because when you're hyper focused on something, you know, for me, this is kind of like my Monday, Tuesday thought process. You know, you can, and then you do it over the course of multiple decades, you make some mistakes and all that.

But you learn your lesson and you're putting out good recommendations, basically. It's extremely nuanced. So it is a little difficult to write this article. I always have to kind of remind people like, well, don't give this person away. Don't trade this player at any cost. But I do think I'm pretty good at seeing the ebbs and flows and being predictive about players who are about to see a bump in their real and or perceived value and vice versa. And by the way, you know, sometimes I have obvious guys on here, like very obvious. But, you know, coming out of week one, it's like there are three, at least three, there's probably four or five, but there's three players that are so blatantly obvious because they crapped the bed a week one. So we're not going to talk Colston Loveland or Jamar Chase or Drake London. Although Drake London, you know, he might be, in many ways, he is a tremendous example of this because obviously week one was brutal.

The casual fantasy fan may not realize how much him and Michael Pennex cooked last year, even though I don't think Pennex is very good. So, you know, Pennex nearing a return, London had a horrible showing week one. I mean, that's blatantly obvious. So I try to, you know, I'll cover stuff like that, but we try to dig a little bit deeper.

Brian Drake (4:22)

Michael Pennex, excuse me, Drake London actually got traded in my big home league that I'm the commissioner of before week one. A Falcons fan. Yeah, it was a CD Lamb for Drake London and Jalen Warren, which I thought was a terrible trade, but it is what it is and those kind of things happen in fantasy league. We want to educate you guys and get you ready to go out and attack your league. I always want to say this too, John. People message me all the time about trades. They go, hey, here's the trade offer. Did I win the trade?
