Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to episode 278 of The Magic Guys. I'm Josh Norbido, and to my left is Mr. Nick Kay.

**Nick Kay** (0:25)
As right, I'm Nick Kay. Welcome to the show.

**Josh Norbido** (0:28)
What a banger. You're rocking with the two baldies today. Didn't want to wear a shirt. No, I'm wearing a shirt. Didn't want to wear a hat, so I could look as identical as possible to Nick.
So it looks like there's two of the same people, and then one extra.
You'll recognize that we'll be on a little bit later when we get into our discussion. But Nick, how are you doing, buddy?

**Nick Kay** (0:50)
Buddy, it's been a big week. Yeah, I had gig after gig, had a university gig last night. Really awesome.
And they've asked me to come back and do a show for them, which is great, because yeah, I would like to get into that university circuit. I feel like we don't do enough of those, or that when they do hire them, they hire the wrong guys, which I can mention, but probably not publicly.

**Josh Norbido** (1:11)
This sounds pretty deep.

**Nick Kay** (1:12)
Matt Hollywood, moving on. So...

**Josh Norbido** (1:19)
Okay. So you're saying that, yeah, they're not hiring someone young and full of energy?

**Nick Kay** (1:25)
No, you know what it's like when you hire a certain type of people, they might say the wrong person, misrepresents what magic is supposed to be about. So in fact, they told me that we had a comedian night, about three or four nights, like two weeks ago, that was the same, and there was supposed to be four acts, and there was supposed to be a magician in there, and the magician decided they weren't going to come. It was just like, boom. So I don't know who it was, but I just said to him, yo, if you want some magicians we're going to represent, contact me.
We have an amazing agency. We have guys all over Oz more than happy to help.

**Josh Norbido** (1:56)
Geez, what magician just doesn't want to come to a gig? That's crazy.

**Nick Kay** (2:02)
I can think of a few. That's not the way to represent, but yeah.

**Josh Norbido** (2:06)
Yeah, wow. All right. Well, god damn. It's good to see everyone who has turned up, however, in the chat. I can see GearHunt, I can see David, Scotty Link, the boys, Tim Askin. These guys know how to do it. And some of you were saying in the chat or in the comments rather that you're getting jump scared by the air horn.
Cause I can get a little trigger happy sometimes, you know? And to most people I would say, look, just listen to it on Apple Podcast or Spotify because it normally edits out that sound. But just for your viewing pleasure, I've changed a couple of sound effects, so you're going to hear a few different things. So this is the current one that has replaced the air horn.
Tell me what you think. I think it still sounds like an exclamation mark. But again, if you listen to this on Spotify, you probably didn't even hear it anyway. But these are the things I'm dealing with Nick. These bloody thousands of messages that come in every week about the podcast.

**Nick Kay** (3:07)
It's tough being you. No one ever says, hey, great job. They all say, hey, Nick, you look tired. I am.

**Josh Norbido** (3:15)
That's because they think we're both Nick. That's why.
What up, Pasha? Pasha came to see Ernan Macagno as well.
Good show. Macagno. Yeah. It's great to see. Yeah. A good handful of magicians came out to see our international guest perform at the Theatre of Magic last week. That was bloody fun. Also, I could give a shout out to a guy I've never met before, but we all know as a legend is Mr. Shudigawa.

**Nick Kay** (3:45)
Oh, wow.

**Josh Norbido** (3:47)
We had a couple. So a couple has booked me for their wedding in October, and directly correlated to having seen Shudigawa, like last year in Hawaii at his show there. They saw his show there. They got engaged while in Hawaii. And they told me they were so moved by his show that the card they had selected that night, they went and both got matching tattoos of the seven of hearts. And they showed me, and they have a seven and a heart indice on their forearm. And I was like, what effect did he do that made you want to get the card tattooed on your body? And the only way she described it was she's like, he made my ring vanish, and then he pulled my ring out of a seven of hearts.
