Live again from SEC Media Days, it's Mike Gittens. I'm here with Brandon Marcello. You guys know Brandon. He's covered more Auburn Football than I've even ever thought of.
Brandon, I want to thank you for joining me today to talk a little Auburn. Alex Golesh just got off the main stage. I wanted to get your thoughts on what we heard from Alex Golesh. What's your confidence level in Auburn? Being able to maybe exceed expectations a little bit based on what we heard from Alex Golesh. He said, Byrum Brown is already one of the best quarterbacks in college football. You buy and you buy and you sell and Byrum Brown is one of the best quarterbacks in college football.

**Brandon Marcello** (3:28)
All I can think of is like two years ago my colleague Chris Hummer was like just talking up this Byrum Brown guy and all this and he proved it at USF. And I think that more than anything, a good thing for Alex Golesh is that bringing the players he had, some of them at USF to Auburn, one they're familiar with the system, they're like practically all like veterans, older guys and then they could go into that locker room and kind of communicate to them like this is our process, this is how you do things, you need to buy into it. And I was talking to Alex back in early June about that and he was saying he's getting like great reviews from the players about what was going on in the off season workouts.
And you even heard him on the stage today, I don't know if anybody caught this, but he said we've got the talent to beat anybody on the schedule. And he straight up just said that. I don't know if I got lost in there, but I thought that was interesting.

**Mike Gittens** (4:21)
So he believes in his defense, right?

**Brandon Marcello** (4:24)
Yeah, I mean, when my Chitney, you know, with DJ returning and coordinating everything. And but it's almost like I'm sure for Auburn fans, it's one of those things where you're just like, I'll see, I'll believe it when I see it, you know, because we haven't like seen offense worth a darn at Auburn in half a decade. Since Gus. Since Gus Malzow, I guess. Yeah. And so, but Golesh, everywhere he goes, he scores points and you would expect that out of the gate, especially with all the veteran guys he's got.
