Hey, before your Q3 call, I've got the campaign brief ready, built from last quarter's data and the competitive landscape.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:07)
Great. Did you include the differentiation angle the CMO asked for?
**SPEAKER_1** (0:11)
Already in there. Three angles no competitors using right now. Just need your approval.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:16)
Approved. Thanks. Oh, agents, where would we be without you?
**SPEAKER_1** (0:21)
Hmm, somewhere with a lot more tabs open.

Welcome to a brand new season of The Pitch. It's our sweet 16 We're going to prom.
This season, we ventured to Tampa. Eighteen founders and 10 VCs flew in just to swim with the manatees. JK, it was to hang out with me and Lisa. This season, we're giving you more of what you love, and less of what you don't.
**SPEAKER_6** (0:50)
I definitely start to blank out when we're talking about middleware AI wrappers.
**Josh Muccio** (0:56)
Software is out. Actual cool stuff is in. We've got consumer brands.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:01)
We're building 8 Sleep for daytime.
**Josh Muccio** (1:03)
Hardware that helps blind people see.
**SPEAKER_7** (1:05)
They kept asking for middle finger. Next thing we knew, we had like 10 students running around flipping each other off.
**Josh Muccio** (1:11)
We've got deep tech to change the weather.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:13)
Our big vision is to make it rain and snow on demand.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:17)
What if you wanted to not make it rain somewhere else?
**SPEAKER_6** (1:21)
Like one day we're just like, screw Arizona.
**Josh Muccio** (1:24)
And of course, dairy.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:26)
I never imagined my life journey would be milk.
**Josh Muccio** (1:29)
But it isn't just the founders giving us what we want. We've got some new VCs, and they were born for the pitch room.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:36)
Entrepreneurship is the dance between hubris and humility. We were deep in the cut for three hours. My brain just like lit up.
**Josh Muccio** (1:44)
And all your old favorites are in the room too, doing what they do best.
**SPEAKER_7** (1:48)
I got strings. I'm not an easy yes.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:50)
May I ask sort of an a-hole question?
**SPEAKER_3** (1:53)
I don't think you're raising enough money.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:55)
What are the weird use cases?
**Josh Muccio** (1:57)
The VCs bring out their checkbooks in a big way.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:01)
I finally answered the FaceTime, and he's like, Dude, Draper wants to invest a million dollars. I was just like, wait, what are you talking about?
**Josh Muccio** (2:10)
And more founders than ever before will enter the foxhole.
**SPEAKER_7** (2:15)
Let me ask you a more plain, bold-faced question. Would you ever play a sport where you didn't know where the goal was?
**SPEAKER_3** (2:23)
No.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:24)
That's what you're doing.
**Josh Muccio** (2:26)
But what surprised me this season is that just as much happened outside the pitch room as did inside.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:33)
Have you ever committed to a founder based on a group chat before?
**SPEAKER_2** (2:37)
I can confidently say I have never.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:39)
I have never.
**Josh Muccio** (2:41)
We even have founders investing in each other.
**SPEAKER_7** (2:44)
Natalia comes up to me, she's like, Hey, do you have a quick second to chat? And just right away she's like, all right, I really, really want to invest $10,000.
**Josh Muccio** (2:50)
You know, when we started inviting people to these pitch events, we had no idea it would grow into something so much bigger than a podcast.
**SPEAKER_2** (2:59)
I really didn't totally understand what I was getting myself into with this thing. You know, like, this is a program, this is a community.
**Josh Muccio** (3:07)
I mean, I guess we kind of knew this would happen when we bought our show back from Spotify and then started a venture fund to let listeners invest. Speaking of, in season 16, we make our first investments out of The Pitch Fund 2
**SPEAKER_7** (3:20)
Majority of that is already signed and wired.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:23)
Who are you waiting on?
**SPEAKER_7** (3:26)
Well, you know, to put you guys on the spot, could you make a signed and wired commitment to the Hapware deal?
**Josh Muccio** (3:38)
We're in, Jack. If you want to invest in what you hear this season, you can learn more at thepitch.fund. Season 16 starts next Wednesday, August 19th. We will see you wherever you get your podcasts. In the pitch room.
Lisa, I didn't know you were here.
**SPEAKER_2** (4:02)
Excuses are easy. An epic movie night, we don't have enough snacks. Dinner party with the girls, we'd have to decorate. Surprise date night, nothing to wear.
But Amazon's Prime same-day delivery lets you say yes before the moment slips away.
