Week two of Broncos OTAs is in the books and we just got out of practice and got so much to break down. Before we dive in, make sure to hit us with a thumbs up, subscribe to this channel so you have all of your Denver Broncos news for next week, which is mandatory, the mini camp, and training camp, which is next month, and of course, all season, where we're traveling for every single game as well. We are your home for Broncos news and let's dive in to all the Broncos news that you need. Congratulations to Sean Payton. Literally, as the minute practice started today, Sean Payton signed his new five year contract with the Broncos. I'm sure it makes him one of the highest paid, if not the highest paid coach in the NFL, and Sean was all smiles at practice, as you would be after getting probably over $100 million in guaranteed money over the next five years. This now ties him to the Broncos through the 2030 season, which is the exact same contract that George Payton signed just a couple of months ago. And after George Payton signed his contract extension with the Broncos, that's when Sean Payton started working on his extension with the Broncos. So those two have become the Paytons that are running the Broncos, and they have become a masterful duo together. In the past two years since they drafted Bo Nix, those three have led the Broncos to the second most regular season wins in the NFL back-to-back playoffs, and no one expected them to have the type of jump that they have. Now Sean Payton gets to continue to lead this. He said, quote, I'm very thankful that they want me back. And Sean Payton said one of the biggest reasons that he wanted to be here in the first place and why he wanted to stay here was the triangle of coach, general manager and ownership. And obviously everything this ownership does is fantastic. And then his relationship with ownership is great along with his relationship with George. This is really a winning move for the Broncos, for Sean, for Bo, for everyone. And Sean doesn't know what his endgame is in terms of the being a coach in the NFL. He says he still loves it, he still has the juice, and he enjoys it and enjoys working with George Payton. And he said when he stops enjoying it is when he'll hang it up. But he joked that his time frame now is at least five years because he just got that deal. So congratulations to Sean. He deserves it. And this is fantastic news for the Broncos moving forward, having the ownership, coach, GM, and quarterback all in place for a very long time. Speaking of the quarterback, Broncos have a very positive outlook on Bo Nix. Got to see Bo Nix out on the field today. He did not practice, but I did see him. He was not wearing a boot, he was not wearing a brace, and I did even see him jog a little bit. And Sean Payton informed us that Bo was doing walkthrough before practice started. So while we still have to wait till next week to see him practice, which Sean Payton said will happen, he is taking encouraging steps in the future. So next week, mandatory mini camp, expect to see number 10 out there with his teammates, and we'll be watching for all of it as that happens. And the guy that really stole the show today, despite Sean Payton getting the big contract, new contract, was Davis Webb. Davis Webb spoke for the first time and made an incredible impression on me and I think Broncos Country as well. Davis Webb got this promotion just a couple of days after the season ended when he met with Sean, George and Greg Penner, and when they offered him the offensive coordinator position with play calling duties, he said, I signed it almost immediately because he wants to be in Denver. This is where he wants to be. This is the best organization that he's been a part of, he said, and here's the thing that really stood out to me about Davis, he is not shying away from the fact that Sean Payton is going to be the guy looking down on him and maybe questioning some of his play calls at some times. He says he absolutely loves working for Sean Payton, and there were questions like, what's this relationship going to be like? Because Sean is a Hall of Fame play caller, how is it going to be for Davis? And Davis is embracing that. He said, that's one of the reasons I wanted to be here was to be able to learn from a gold jacket Hall of Famer like Sean. And he even said, name a better coach than Sean. And it's pretty hard to with what Sean's done in his time with New Orleans and his time with Denver. And I just got to say, Broncos Country is going to fall in love with Davis Webb as a play caller and as a person. And I just was really blown away with how much he wants to be here and how he made that so clear. He has a great relationship with Bo, but made it clear now that as the quarterback coach last year and the year before, he got to be warm and fuzzy with Bo Nix. Now he's going to be a little bit separated from that. So his relationship might change a little bit, but it's a great relationship as is. And then when he was asked about Jaylen Waddle, you could tell his socks were knocked off. He was like, man, he's good. And then he made a very fascinating term or comparison when pointing to Jaylen Waddle. He said, I was in Buffalo when Josh Allen was entering his third year in the NFL. And that's when the Bills signed Stephon Diggs. And that took that offense to a whole new level. He said he sees similarities between that and what Jaylen Waddle can do as a player and person for this team and how that can help Bo, just like Stephon Diggs, help Josh Allen. So really eye popping comments from Davis Webb. You're gonna absolutely love him. And I think he's gonna bring a lot of juice to the football field as well. Unfortunately, there was that situation last week when Jonathon Cooper was arrested. He was out on the practice field today. He practiced all week. And Sean Payton after practice said, look, the NFL really takes control of these situations. So they're just standing by what the NFL says to do. And apparently the NFL says it's okay to let Jonathon Cooper practice as this situation plays out. Sean Payton did have a long conversation with Cooper after his arrest. He did not address the team about it and says, that time will come probably in the future. But right now, everything is in the NFL's hands when it comes to that situation. I mentioned Jaylen Waddle. Let me tell you a little more about him. And before I do, make sure to like and subscribe to this video and this channel. We really appreciate it and we hope to be delivering the best Broncos news for you, including right now. Number 17, we got our second look at Jaylen Waddle on a Broncos practice field. And I gotta say, his speed is so noticeable. I've been talking to people in the building behind the scenes. They see a lot of fast people all the time and they're like, man, this speed is different. And we saw it today. Today, the Broncos are doing a little two-minute move, the ball drill where you had to get out of bounds. Jaylen Waddle caught a passing in the middle of the field and just sprinted toward the sideline, was able to get out of bounds. And I'm not sure a lot of people would have been able to get out of bounds with the defense, how they were crashing down on him. But his speed got him there. So it is very evident. Sean Payton said the edition of Waddle has really upped the competition in the wide receiver room. He said it's exciting to see and everyone is getting better because of this. And like I said, when asked about it, Davis Webb said, man, he's good. So the Broncos absolutely love the edition of Jaylen Waddle. And as they should for being that first round pick that they traded for him, another guy that is really impressing me, Sean Payton, Vance Joseph and people behind the scenes in the Broncos when I talked to them is Q Robinson, rookie last year who developed really well. In fact, had a sack in the playoffs and he is just on an exponential rise right now. This is a guy who had a big sack in practice today off the right side just blew by the tackle and would have absolutely destroyed Jared Stidham if it was a game. And Vance Joseph said he took a look at all of Q Robinson's plays last year after the season and he saw a future starter in number 51 So this is a guy where you can expect to see him a lot more this year on defense and special teams. He's got all the physical tools and man, it's all clicking for him right now. Sean even said after practice, man, he is doing well and continuing to progress. Another guy that the Broncos really like on the defensive side, Ja'Quan McMillian. There was some interesting reporting yesterday that the Broncos were in contract negotiations with him. I reported that that is not the case for multiple sources, but that did not stop Sean Payton from just speaking so highly about Ja'Quan today. He said Ja'Quan so focused on football and getting better and helping himself and this team that he's not focused on the contract extensions. He said that will play itself out. And it's very clear that Sean Payton wants Ja'Quan to be a Bronco for a long time. He said when asked, do you see an extended future for Ja'Quan in Denver? He said, absolutely. He's got all the things you're looking for in a player. It's very clear that Sean Payton wants Ja'Mac to stay a Bronco. One of the big reasons why the Broncos struggle taking the ball away until the end of the season in the playoffs last year. But Ja'Quan is a guy that consistently takes the ball away. And so that's a huge role for him on this Broncos defense. Speaking of Broncos defense, we got to talk to Vance Joseph the first time this year. And unfortunately, it was the first time since he did not get a head coaching job in this past cycle. I believe had 10 interviews and did not get a single job. Sean Payton says that is going to change. He will become a head coach at some point. And Sean said, I'm gonna do everything I possibly can to get him a head coaching job. And Vance said, yes, I still do wanna be a head coach. That time will come. But right now I'm focused on making this Broncos defense great for another year in a row and helping this Broncos team win.
