It is certainly a treat. We're thankful for that.
Steve Sax (2:11)
Wow, thanks a lot, man.
Tim Cates (2:13)
Yeah, absolutely. We'll get into the Brewers a little bit more tomorrow. Preview what they're looking like. Certainly they're a very, very good baseball team.
The Dodgers, last night, celebrating in the clubhouse. We heard from the manager, Dave Roberts, at the podium. You heard his celebratory speech to the team in recognizing players' individual efforts in that NLDS series. We're going to hear from Freddie Friedman coming up. Let's hear from the architect, the man who put this all together, Freddie Friedman, or Andrew Friedman, the president of baseball operations with David Vassegh.
David Vassegh (2:42)
This is the eighth time Andrew Friedman is leading the Dodgers to the NLCS. What can you say about this series and how proud are you of all 26 guys put on this roster?
Andrew Friedman (2:53)
Yeah, I mean, that's what stands out for me, is the depth of talent, the number of guys who had an impact in these three wins coming off the bench, out of the bullpen, what Diaz did. There's so many guys, they can go up and down the roster, and I think it speaks not just only to the high end talent we have, but also the depth behind it.
David Vassegh (3:13)
Andrew, there were so many questions, who would get the last three outs for you in this series for any game? What can you say about who Sugar Diaz is?
Andrew Friedman (3:21)
Yeah, to go through the adversity that he went through this year, and not just the adversity, as he was coming back, he said, hey, whatever you guys need. And he meant it. And so he came out in the fifth inning, he came out in the sixth inning, and he just kept going about his business and trying to get right. And we saw at those last three, four outings heading into the postseason. And then these outings here have been electric.
David Vassegh (3:45)
Andrew, one thing that everybody says about you is your belief in players, even if they can get 1% better, you believe. How much belief did you have to have in Edwin Diaz to trust him in these last two games?
Andrew Friedman (3:58)
You know, I think a lot of it is what we saw coming down the stretch.
