SAMSUNG just put a giant new door in front of stable coin adoption, and Solana is busting that door wide open.
SAMSUNG and the SAMSUNG Wallet will bring USDC functionality for eligible Galaxy users in the US. In the last week of October, the headline number is 82 million compatible Galaxy devices. And that is the potential immediate reap. Put Solana inside a mainstream consumer distribution immediately. This is the adoption advantage that we're talking about in our last Layer 1 video. Because the biggest barrier to crypto has never been whether the tech can move money. It can. The barrier is distribution.
Getting normal people to download the separate app, create a wallet, and understand private keys, bridging assets and trusting the process along the way, most people do not want to do that. And they should not have to. The SAMSUNG Wallet is already where people expect to manage their payment tools, and if stable coin transfers become a feature inside that already familiar device, crypto stops asking that user to become a crypto native first.

SAMSUNG Wallet will expand beyond cash and savings. It will embrace new forms of digital value, including stable coins.
This will make SAMSUNG one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stable coins to a smartphone.

It sounds awesome, but let's get precise about the SAMSUNG announcement. Eligible US Galaxy users can register and verify their identity, set up biometrics, and use USDC for compatible international crypto wallets and qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries. SAMSUNG says that SWE and Solana will provide infrastructure and blockchain network support. Bastion is providing the cross-border payment framework, and Coinbase Prime Vault is the sub-custodian. Now, the launch is going to start with transfers. SAMSUNG describes the online and in-store stablecoin payments as future possibilities. The next step is bigger opportunity here, moving from a sending money movement home to paying for everyday purchases in our real lives. But do not miss the bigger picture because these details matter. The rails are moving closer to the consumer now. That is where the next decade gets decided in these projects. If you're sending value across borders today, you can still hit expensive fees, bad exchange rates, long delays, and strange operating hours among many middlemen in between point A and B.
Stable coins promise something simpler. Digital dollars can move globally all day, every day, and the winning product will make that feel ordinary. Samsung is trying to put that experience in a wallet people already recognize and use. And that is very, very bullish for Solana, not because every dollar of USDC magically becomes sole demand, but because the distribution creates the chance for a durable network. Distribution kicks that door open, but the repeat usage turns that access into a network effect. Now, here's the mistake a lot of people are going to make. They see the payment volume and immediately turn it into token price targets. That is not how this is going to work. You have to remember that the consumer is using and moving USDC and not buying Solana directly. Samsung can sponsor or abstract the fees, and Solana's low fees are fantastic for utility, but they also mean a direct fee capture is very small here. Let me put the numbers on it. Solana's documented base fee is 5,000 lampposts. To put it in context on how small that fee is, it's 0.00005 Solana per signature, and that's at $116 Solana price token reference point.
That is about 6 10,000s of a dollar. Half of the base fee is burned, and half goes to the validators. Now we take a look at WorldPay's 2030 estimate for global in-store payment app volume, $15.6 trillion.
This is a defined ceiling for payment apps and not all mobile purchases, not a Solana forecast, and definitely not a market cap formula. Now at 1% of that volume, you get $156 billion, 10%, $1.56 trillion. And at 100%, an intentionally extreme thought experiment, $15.6 trillion.
If every transaction were at $50, everyone used one 5,000-lamport base fee transaction, even the 1% scenario produces about $1.81 million in annual base fees at $116 price point for Solana. With about $904,000 of that being burned, 10% gets you about $18.1 million in base fees. That's an absurd 100% thought experiment, gets you to $181 million. Is this useful for potentials? Sure. But should I use this as a justification for a trillion-dollar Sol value? Absolutely not. This is not bearish. It is the actual bull case. The value capture path here is not USDC moving to Solana. The value capture path is not. USDC moves from Sol instantly captures those same dollars. The value capture here is Solana wins the routing, liquidity deepens, and apps get built where the users are. The developers follow the usage, and then merchants and wallets begin to integrate. Reliability begins to be proven at scale, and then the network becomes strategically important. Market assigns a higher network premium to that future. That is a much bigger opportunity than just fee revenue alone. It's also harder to earn.
