All right, there's this amazing book called Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got. I read it a few years ago and it changed my life.
And the reason I loved it was because it basically talks about how to get and make more money using things that you already have.
Coincidentally, today's podcast is brought to you by Business Made Simple. It's a podcast by Donald Miller, who I'm gonna tell you about in a second, but he has this amazing episode that's all related to this book and the things that I learned in this book. It's called How To Make Money With What You Already Have. It's an incredible episode. Talks about all the stuff that I learned in this book. The host is Donald Miller. I didn't know who Donald Miller was up until recently, but over the last 12 months, this is totally by coincidence. It was all separate people. They said, you have to check out Donald Miller. He's amazing. So I'm happy that he's part of HubSpot's Podcast Network. You can check it out, Business Made Simple Podcast. It's where he coaches you on how to build your business like an airplane, where the cockpit is your leadership, the body is your overhead, the right engine is your marketing, the left engine is your sales.
You have to check it out. This guy's amazing. It's called Business Made Simple with Donald Miller.

I'm going to hire a Santa. I'm going to find a foot traffic area and I'm going to make like 10 grand in a day.

**Sam Parr** (1:08)
No way. There's no way you're going to be able to pull this off.
I bet you $500.

**Shaan Puri** (1:25)
I think, can we be doing a like...
Right now, we just roll into the conversation. Should we be doing a thing where it's like, this is the My First Million podcast, where we do X, Y, Z? Because if you're a new person coming on, the podcast starts with you being like, we good?
So I'm going to tell you a story. I bought a car and the car has a transmission. You know what a transmission is? So check this out. And then you go into the thing. So should we be educating people on what this is, or you think that's true, try hard and just fucking...

**Sam Parr** (1:56)
No, I think we should.
We did the intros at the end for a while, where we recorded them and put them in front. But how do you...
I don't even know how to describe this podcast. When I meet someone and they ask me what I do for a living, I say, oh, I do this thing. I also host this podcast called My First Million. And I'm always embarrassed to say the name. But then what do you explain the podcast is?

**Shaan Puri** (2:16)
Yeah, I would say like, you know, for people who are...
They're kind of like business nerds or they're idea junkies.
So they're always, you know, scheming or wondering, you know, what's the business behind this? How much money does this make? How much money does this person have? Those types of questions that you're not allowed to say out loud. This is the place where we talk about those things out loud. That's kind of my off the top of my head description. And so we brainstorm. If you want to, you know, if you want to sit here while we brainstorm business ideas and break down the economics behind businesses that you've heard of or never heard of, this is the podcast for you.

**Sam Parr** (2:51)
Great. Well, there's our intro.

**Shaan Puri** (2:52)
Another way I'd put it is every other podcast you can listen to if you go into iTunes is going to be about the past or about the future. And we tell you something about the present right now. So past is all interviews about shit you've done. The future is, you know, guessing about, you know, what the world's going to look like in 20 years.
And what we do is we talk about business opportunities that exist today that you should be either building, investing in, or just knowing about.

**Sam Parr** (3:20)
But it's not just business. For example, I got messages. Sometimes we talk about health related stuff, or we just talk about like things we're doing with our life.
And I got messages saying people love it. For example, right now, I'm staying at my friend's house in Hawaii, and I posted a video on my Twitter. Did you see that video?

**Shaan Puri** (3:38)
Looked sick, I saw it.
