Hello, I'm Rob Beckett, and I'm Josh Widdicombe. Welcome to Parenting Hell, the show in which Josh and I discuss what it's really like to be a parent, which I would say can be a little tricky.

Josh Widdicombe (0:12)

So, to make ourselves and hopefully you feel better about the trials and tribulations of modern-day parenting, each week we'll be chatting to a famous parent about how they're coping, or hopefully how they're not coping. And we'll also be hearing from you, the listener, with your tips, advice, and of course, tales of parenting woe.

Rob Beckett (0:28)

Because, let's be honest, there are plenty of times where none of us know what we're doing. Hello, you're listening to Parenting Hell with...

Josh Widdicombe (0:40)

Arlo, can you say Rob Beckett?

Michael (0:43)

Rob Beckett.

Jessica Ennis-Hill (0:44)

And can you say Josh Widdicombe?

Michael (0:47)

Josh Widdicombe.

Jessica Ennis-Hill (0:48)

Theo, can you say Rob Beckett? And can you say Josh Widdicombe?

That's it, good one. Marnie, you want to say Rob Beckett?

Michael (1:04)

No?

Rob Beckett (1:04)

Okay.

Josh Widdicombe (1:05)

There we go. No. No. Michael, I hadn't turned that on until halfway through, but I'm sure you can just rip the file, can you?

Michael (1:21)

Anyway, a quick meeting.

Josh Widdicombe (1:24)

A quick meeting. I just thought I'd clear it with Michael before we moved on.

Jessica Ennis-Hill (1:28)

Sorry, Josh, you're really loud again.

Josh Widdicombe (1:31)

Oh, no, I'm having a shocker. OK, how did I do this last time? My gain is at zero. Am I going... Oh, there we go.

Jessica Ennis-Hill (1:39)

Your gain is at zero.

Josh Widdicombe (1:40)

We're back, we're back, we're back.

Michael (1:41)

OK.

Josh Widdicombe (1:42)

Fucking hell. Look at the size of my sound waves on that thing that's going along the bar.

Michael (1:47)

Why are your sound waves so massive, Josh? Right.

Josh Widdicombe (1:51)

Do you want me to start again?

Jessica Ennis-Hill (1:53)

Oh, Rob, I've accidentally muted you. You'll have to unmute yourself.

Michael (1:59)

I've unmuted myself.

Rob Beckett (2:01)

This is horrible.

Josh Widdicombe (2:03)

What a disastrous start.

Rob Beckett (2:05)

I genuinely, I know we like to be a little bit ramshackle, but I genuinely think that is the worst we've ever been. Josh started talking about ripping files. He was too loud to the point where the graphic of the soundbar, it went off the chart. Michael muted me, which is, what were you, what's that? So you can mute me, but you can't unmute me.

Jessica Ennis-Hill (2:28)

Yeah, it's a bit of a flaw on the platform.

Rob Beckett (2:30)

Oh yeah, definitely the platform's fault, isn't it?

Michael (2:32)

It's definitely not ours.

Rob Beckett (2:37)

The old platform.

Michael (2:38)

Anyway, Josh, who was that?

Josh Widdicombe (2:40)

There'll be a few people who've gone, I do like Jessica Ennis-Hill, and you know what? I'm going to try this new podcast.

Rob Beckett (2:48)

Yeah, and first of all, what does RIP it mean?

Josh Widdicombe (2:51)

All right, so what I meant was...

Rob Beckett (2:54)

What happened to you?

Josh Widdicombe (2:55)

I hadn't set my thing recording when I played the file.

Rob Beckett (2:59)

Yeah, yes, you weren't recording your sound, which I'd say is quite key.

Josh Widdicombe (3:03)

Yeah, but I thought Michael, because I was playing a sound file, would just be able to use the sound file of...

Rob Beckett (3:08)

Sure. And where are we up to in that, Michael, from a sort of production point of view? Did we never actually confirm that, did we? Or was I muted on both sides?

Josh Widdicombe (3:15)

Can you rip it, whatever that means?

Rob Beckett (3:17)

Yeah, we're absolutely fine. God, absolute ripper. He's going to rip the shit out of that later.

Josh Widdicombe (3:23)

Hello, you sexy and relatable pair. I'm a mom of three boys under five. This is my middle child, Arlo, three, and Theo, four, saying your names, with some slight babble from Marley aged 50 months. I absolutely love the podcast. Myself and my husband only discovered it last year, but we're all caught up and enjoy every single episode. Keep Being a Sexy Tale from Chelsea, aged 396 months from Romford. Oi, oi.

Rob Beckett (3:47)

That was a good one, though. I enjoyed that. I'd say so far the children have performed more professionally and at a better level than we have so far, Josh.

Josh Widdicombe (3:56)

Also, we've got such a big guest.

Rob Beckett (3:59)

Is this our First Dame?

Josh Widdicombe (4:01)

Probably.

Rob Beckett (4:02)

My friend is from Sheffield and he was in a park once and he was watching this woman run and he was like, Jesus, she's quick. You know how sometimes you see runners, it's normally like a middle-aged man shuffling about?
