October 11, 2026

When Cheryl brings the mayhem, Joy brings the questions and this is no different - why did he do that, what was his motivation, who saw this coming and why why why?

Cheryl Yamaguchi (0:12)

Joy and I are two very old friends who love to talk about murder and everything else.

So it's finally cooling down a little bit, Joy. She brought out the fall decorations, and I said, hold on a minute, because it was still 90 degrees outside, and I was not feeling the fall decorations. Although I lived in Hawaii and Arizona, where it's 90 degrees in fall.

Joy McKeon (0:42)

It's 90 degrees all the time over there.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (0:46)

Not in Hawaii, actually. That's true.

Joy McKeon (0:48)

You get the cool island breezes.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (0:49)

Well, if you hit 90 in Hawaii, you're going to die.

Joy McKeon (0:54)

The humidity plus. It's like going to Hong Kong or Singapore. It's just hot with a layer of hot.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (1:01)

Yeah. But yeah, so it's coming down to the 70s. I think as we record this this week, right? Should be the 70s. Let me look. Let me look. Let me look. We still got an 80 We got a, can I get a 68 on Thursday?

So I'm on board, sort of got my toe in it with the fall decorate. You brought them out like two or three weeks ago. I did.

Joy McKeon (1:29)

September is the turning point.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (1:31)

I understand that usually it is, but this, so this is my second September. And I don't remember last year being this warm.

Joy McKeon (1:39)

Yeah, last summer was wetter. Remember a lot more thunderstorms, a lot more like rainstorms during the night.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (1:46)

But it was hot and and humid. I remember being hot and humid, but not for this long. I'm getting like flashbacks of Arizona where the heat just won't stop when it's supposed to. Anyway, I'm glad to say that it is going now.

Joy McKeon (1:59)

It is. And the leaves are falling in the backyard. They're turning very pretty, very pretty.

Well, guys, last week, we did an episode on Micah Miller. And if you didn't listen to it, it's that guy in South Carolina who's a preacher, who, you know, his wife committed suicide, quote unquote. You can't see me making my air quotes because it's a podcast. Anyway, there were two things I forgot to mention in last week's episode. And believe me, by the time this drops, I'm sure I will have heard from our diehard listeners, Gabe Francois.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (2:43)

But, um, Thank you.

Joy McKeon (2:45)

Cheryl, in 1998, JP. Miller was convicted in a case involving striking a woman twice with his vehicle, twice. How do you strike someone twice? What, you hit them and then turn around and back up and run over them again?

Cheryl Yamaguchi (3:00)

Yeah, that's the only way.

Joy McKeon (3:02)

I forgot to mention that. And that was like, it's huge. That's huge. So hi.

Talk about like where there's smoke, there's fire. Did she survive? I got to do more digging on that, but I forgot to mention. And did anything happen to him?

Cheryl Yamaguchi (3:16)

Well, obviously not. He's out.

Joy McKeon (3:18)

Well, he was convicted.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (3:19)

And he got a slap on the wrist. Probably.

Joy McKeon (3:22)

And then also in the documentary that we talked about from Netflix about Micah Miller and JP Miller.

Remember, his third wife's name is Susie Skinner, and they started their affair, much like Micah and him started their affair, while he was still with Micah. But Susie was married to a guy in a wheelchair who was found drowned in a swimming pool. How did he get there? I don't know. But she's claimed that he was really struggling, his health was going downhill, and he was depressed. Again, with the depression, because remember, Micah also struggled with this. And he said from the pulpit at the church in reference to Susie, like how she was something of a smoke show, because like, and how did he, the guy in the wheelchair managed to get a wife that smoking hot.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (4:17)

And we'll have to dig into, was he already paralyzed when he met her?

Joy McKeon (4:23)

Yes. She was his physical therapist.

So it's like, how do you get off saying that from also for, he said the most awful thing. Let's go back to like, okay, just because you're pretty doesn't mean you can't date somebody or just as you're in a wheelchair, doesn't mean you can't date somebody who's pretty.

Cheryl Yamaguchi (4:41)

Well, also he's just awful. I mean, this crap he said from the pulpit during his sermons were just, that guy needs to be held accountable.

Joy McKeon (4:57)

Anyway, I just wanted to add that to my little retraction pile. And also, we did an episode where I talked about you're pregnant for 40 weeks. And my husband texted me and said, a month is not 28 days.
