In the course of truck season, we have become the trucks.

**Abigail** (0:53)
I gotta tell ya, you gave me the pick, and it's like, oh, Armageddon, that's a movie about trucks, sure.
Oh, The Irishman, that's a movie about trucks, sure. I challenge you to find a frame of this movie that doesn't have at least one truck in it.

This is one of the most about trucks movies I think I've ever seen.

I would say so, because today, Devon, it is your bonus pick, and it's Convoy, the 1978 entry, I would say the definitive entry, in the small, weird category of movies made after novelty songs.

**Devon** (1:32)
Yeah.

This is the movie of the song Convoy.

**Devon** (1:35)
Which I had never heard before watching the movie, which is very funny. I was like, why do they keep playing this fucking song? Alright.

**Abigail** (1:42)
It's a pretty straight adaptation of the song Convoy.

**November** (1:45)
That's true.

**Abigail** (1:46)
It really does.

So, the thing to note is that CB radio was a fad in the 70s, because truckers used it to communicate. And so, functionally, this is sort of like subculturally, if you had a movie called Group Chat after a song entitled Group Chat, the chorus of which is, we got a big old group chat posting through the night.

And CB radio lasted a couple of years and then disappeared without trace.

**Devon** (2:28)
Oh, do truckers not still use CB radio?

**November** (2:31)
I don't think it's a cultural phenomenon in the same way.

**Abigail** (2:34)
I guess they don't all, like, by default use it, I suppose. Which is that that's a shame. You should be able to do this.

**November** (2:40)
These days, they're all texting and driving, is the thing.

**Devon** (2:44)
They're in a group chat.

**November** (2:45)

This day, they're just driving on the highway, they're screaming down 95 kilometers per hour, they don't know what any of that means, but they got their phone up, they're staring at each other on Jatchi BT, generate me a video of me meeting Iron Man. Whoa.

Yeah. This was the thing that we saw, we saw, uh, in Big Trouble in Little China, right? Like, this was what he was doing when he was on the radio, in the truck.

Jack Burton was on the radio podcasting, just saying whatever over the airwaves, and these are the airwaves.

**Devon** (3:34)
On the subject of, like, new generations having phone anxiety, yesterday somebody who is, bless that 21, said to me, uh, she was having a cake delivered for a party, and she was like, I just called the bakery, and I had, like, no problems being on the phone with them. And she said this is, like, a tone of being, like, expecting me to congratulate her. And I just went, in a way that I now realize was really incestuous, I was like, why would you have problems calling a bakery? And she was like, cause it's a phone call. And I was like, what? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah, oh, great job, yay!

Zuma's on the CV radio, just like playing away, everyone's talking, I'm not touching it.

**Devon** (4:06)
Yeah.

**Abigail** (4:07)
I'm like staring at it.

**November** (4:08)
This is like the Voight-Kampff test to me, like the Zuma, you're phone-mogging this Zuma, and the Zuma's just lying there, like having made the phone call looking up at you, and you're not helping, why aren't you helping the Zuma?
