Joy (0:06)

Welcome to Murder and Everything Else. My name is Joy.

Cheryl (0:10)

And my name is Cheryl. Joy and I are two very old friends who love to talk about murder and everything else. So I was telling Joy that I have been dreaming like crazy.

And it's funny what comes out in your dreams.

Joy (0:27)

Like a crazy person or like crazy?

Cheryl (0:29)

It's funny how the smallest thing that you've spoken about during the day or this trivial little thing that happened can come into your dreams.

Joy (0:38)

Just sticking your craw.

Cheryl (0:40)

Yeah, like you were talking about how much walking you're going to do in Denmark. And I was in my dream. I was on a trip somewhere and I was doing a lot of walking in the wrong shoes.

Joy (0:53)

She was wearing Louboutins.

Cheryl (0:55)

But yeah, dreams are so crazy to me. They're so powerful that you can wake up. I woke up very sad yesterday from the dream I had before, the night before. I've been having crazy dreams.

Do you find you dream more when you're super tired or when you're super stressed? Probably all of the above.

Joy (1:17)

Probably you're getting sick. Maybe that's why you're having those dreams.

Cheryl (1:21)

So you're dreaming a lot then.

Joy (1:22)

Well, yeah, but you guys can hear from my voice that I'm actually on the healthy bus. I'm no longer sick. Just in case you guys are worried.

Cheryl (1:34)

She will edit out all the hacking, coughing that she does.

Joy (1:37)

I will.

Cheryl (1:38)

Anyway, we're going to keep our little prelude short and sweet. To a minimum.

Joy (1:46)

I have an update today. I found a David update. I remember that singer David with the four in his name, Anthony Burke. He's a musician and he has been ordered to stand trial for the first degree murder and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Anyway, this was from the 31st of August, so I don't know how I missed this, but his attorneys canceled on him, quit on him.

And now he is being represented by public defender Walid Fuad Candil from the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office after his high-profile private defense team abruptly withdrew from his murder case at the preliminary hearing.

Cheryl (2:39)

Wow, I wonder what the reason was.

Joy (2:41)

I don't know, but my guess is money.

Because those high-profile attorneys come with high paychecks. So public defenders are what?

Cheryl (2:53)

Yeah.

Joy (2:53)

Court appointed.

Cheryl (2:54)

Yeah. I think he's probably missed the update because it's been overshadowed by the Lindsay Clancy case.

Joy (3:02)

And then in other news...

Cheryl (3:05)

One update, lady.

Joy (3:06)

Wait, quickly, I'm going to squeeze this one in. MapQuest surged to a number one spot on the Apple App Store after refusing to comply with a presidential executive order to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America.

Cheryl (3:22)

Will you get an iPhone now?

Joy (3:24)

No. But I will say that one, bravo MapQuest, because I feel like Apple and Google are so ridiculous to go in and change things to. I mean, Lake Ontario is Lake Ontario. It's not going to be called Lake America, just like the Gulf of America is the Gulf of Mexico. It's not going to be called the Gulf of America. And when this orange moron's out of office, they're just going to change it back.

Cheryl (3:49)

So wait, repeat that story.

Joy (3:53)

MapQuest surged to the number one spot on the Apple App Store after refusing to comply with a presidential executive order to re-be renamed to Lake America. Oh, it was MapQuest. It was an iPhone.

Cheryl (4:02)

I mean, it wasn't...

Joy (4:04)

Don't pay any attention to what Cheryl's saying.

Cheryl (4:07)

It wasn't Apple. It was MapQuest. Remember good old MapQuest?

Joy (4:11)

Also...

Cheryl (4:11)

Oh my God, back in the day...

Joy (4:12)

When you print up pages and pages and pages of maps. Anyway, they doubled down by putting up a six-foot billboard in Chicago at State and Hubbard streets that featured directions to Lake Ontario. And the tagline says, it's still Lake Ontario, and we're still here.

So thank you MapQuest.

Cheryl (4:32)

Yes, MapQuest. That's your update and shout out. So let's move on.

Joy (4:36)

No, that's not my shout out, but go ahead. What's your update?

Cheryl (4:39)

So my update is I spent one...

One to six or one to seven. So I spent five to six hours yesterday moving my shit back in from the garage or the garage, as they say. And Gabe, if you're listening to this, the reason I said that I got my workout was not just because I think he thought I was just carrying stuff in. I rearranged my closet. You know, I went through and reorganized, reorganized drawers and stuff like that. I had to keep, donate and throw out.
