No way. A Lego set is a gift that always clicks and clicks. Mom, look. It's so beautiful. And clicks. For every nature lover, choose a Lego set, a gift that always clicks.

Let's be honest. Most men drift. We wake up, we scroll, we work, and then we just rinse and repeat. And we know we're softer than we should be.
That's why I built the 31 Day Resilience Reset. This is not a devotional. It is a field manual for men ready to stop drifting and start fighting back. So for 31 days, you'll train your spirit, mind, and body with scripture, prayer, and daily challenges that forge real resilience. Go to www.Undaunted.Life.31Days to download this resource for free. That's Undaunted.Life.31Days.

This is UndauntedLife A Man's Podcast. I'm your host, Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it. Ryan Watson, welcome to the show. Welcome to the house. Welcome to the podcast studio.

**Ryan Watson** (1:31)
Thank you so much for having me.

**Kyle Thompson** (1:33)
Did you ever think in a million years you'd be doing like a bunch of podcasts, that you write a book, like do all that kind of stuff? That was like perfectly in your wheelhouse. I was in your three to five year plan, wasn't it?

**Ryan Watson** (1:41)
Yeah, not anything that was on my bingo card, I promise you that.

**Kyle Thompson** (1:45)
Well, yeah, you've had quite a few experiences, and pull that mic right up to your face there, but you've had so many like crazy experiences, so like, I mean, you're an okie, and that's part of the thing like about your story, and we'll get into your story, and I talked about it a little bit on the show as it was all kind of occurring, but it's like considering how you grew up, considering kind of what you and your wife were doing, like we're in the same kind of school community and all those different things, like this just was never, none of this was really supposed to happen. And so like, it's kind of one of those things, Ryan, when I tell guys, I tell guys goal setting is fine, but it's just not nearly as good as having standards, because I feel like if you do, because like in business, they try to get you to set your three to five year goals and what are your stretch goals and what are your smart goals and all that. I'm like, most guys aren't struggling in life because they suck at goal setting. Like it doesn't really have anything to do with that. It has a whole lot more to do with the fact that they have no idea what's about to befall them. And so if all of your stuff is predicated on you being healthy, staying in your same job, never being betrayed by like a business partner or a family member, all your kids are awesome and perfect and they don't have any problems or health issues or all that, and then it's like, okay, guys, at some point you got to realize that this is not going to be a perfect pathway. You just need to take the next right step. You know what I mean?

**Ryan Watson** (2:58)
100%, yeah.
I've thought a lot about just kind of how much I could have potentially done differently or I've thought a lot about the bags and what could I have done in terms of all the things. And when we get into how much of a freak chance that this actually was, you start to realize you cannot plan for everything. You think that you can, but I think you're right. I think having just kind of a fabric and a standard set of standards that you build your life around, and then what what God puts in front of you, then then that's going to determine kind of how you respond.

**Kyle Thompson** (3:55)
And so there's some people that are probably already also like, what does he mean bags? What do you mean any of that? So we're going to get there. And so what we're going to do and you wrote this in the book and we'll get to the book towards the end of the story.
But really where the story begins for you is you had a very tight knit group of friends. And I kind of experienced the same thing where me and my guy friends of a certain group, we all had girlfriends at the same time. We all end up marrying those girlfriends. And then you just kind of you stay friends into your 20s and your 30s and then going into your 40s and things like that. And then families expand. You have kids. You do kind of group things. And so here you are. You're coming up on your 40th birthday and you and kind of that group of people, you're thinking, okay, well, you know, we can just go to dinner here in Oklahoma or we can, you know, make a trip to Dallas or St. Louis or Kansas City or something like that. But y'all, we're kind of thinking, okay, no, 40th birthday. Let's try to do a little bit more of a blowout. It's like, hey, we got some, you know, cash burning a hole in our pocket. And so take us back to that time where it's like, okay, 39 going on 40 And you're like, okay, let's let's kind of light this up.
