So worldwide coming up, I think, in a couple of seconds, Carton Show Big Mac. I just saw a tweet from Russell Westbrook. I think he retired. Yeah, he did. Looks like Russell Westbrook has announced his retirement from the NBA, for my money, an absolute guaranteed first bout Hall of Famer.
One of the great players, I think, also of his generation, obviously from multiple teams, more late than at the start of his brilliant career, averaged a triple-double for an entire season, which is a rare feat for anyone in the history of the NBA, and probably got a bad rap at certain parts of his career as well, not being able to make it outside shot.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:40)
Not a great shooter?

**Craig Carton** (0:41)
No. Russell Westbrook, for me, is a bona fide Hall of Famer.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:45)
There's no doubt about it. He's a Hall of Famer. He was a great player of that generation. He was just a blur. He was an incredibly fast-paced player, a ball of energy, and then, yeah, I mean, a triple-double for a season. That's, you're talking about, what was it, Elgin Baylor? Who's the other? Will Chamberlain? Like, these are the only guys? Well, the Big O did it. Yeah, the Big O did it, right? Oscar Robertson.

**Craig Carton** (1:06)
Oscar Robertson, yeah. That's right, but not Elgin Baylor. 18 years in the league, and even last year on a lousy Sacramento King team, you know, haven't been in the league for 18 seasons, still averaged 15, five and seven.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:18)
Yeah.

**Craig Carton** (1:19)
Which, again, you're talking about a guy that's damn near 40 years old.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:23)
No.

**Craig Carton** (1:23)
You know, still getting it done. Great athlete, great player. Incredible motor. Yeah. Was an MVP. Yep. People forget that he was an MVP. And it's now a wrap.
Great career. Yeah. Whole-fame career. I think that one of the, one of the things about him, I'd love to sit down and talk to him one day, maybe we will, was how sensitive he was to the Westbrook stuff.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:45)
Yeah.

**Craig Carton** (1:45)
From random fans. Like, he'd go after you.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:48)
Yeah.

**Craig Carton** (1:49)
Quite famously, we all saw it. And for a guy that's made a gazillion dollars, is going to be very successful, whatever he chooses to, off the court. He was a fashion guy, has a line of clothes and whatnot. Like why he was so sensitive to some plumber in the 18th row going, Westbrook!

**SPEAKER_3** (2:07)
He would fight you over that. Sure.

**Craig Carton** (2:08)
Yeah. That's a weird level of sensitivity.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:11)
And whenever I think of him, I think of, for whatever reason, he's the one guy that makes me think of the three of them altogether in the thunder. Like when I think of Kevin Durant, I don't think of it. When I think of the beard, I don't think of it. But when I think of him, for some reason, I always think, man, if the three of them, I know James Harden has his flaws, no doubt.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:28)
I mean, not a great one.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:29)
But I mean, think about what that, I mean, those are three without question Hall of Fame players. I mean, at the beginning of their career.

**Craig Carton** (2:37)
They should have been a dine estate. They should have been a dominant force. The Showtime Lakers, they should have been the Chicago Bulls. You know, teams that were built throughout through the draft. All young guys, all in the same roster.
That team, what they're doing now, that's what Oklahoma City should have did 20 years ago. At least in my opinion.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:56)
No, absolutely.

**Craig Carton** (2:57)
Yeah, Russell Westbrook.
So there you go, announces retirement with like a three and a half minute long video that was narrated by Michael B. Jordan.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:07)
Michael B.

**Craig Carton** (3:08)
Jordan. He came close. He came this close.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:11)
That would be so. You get Michael Jordan to narrate your retirement speech.

**Craig Carton** (3:15)
He also had his own sneaker. Not every player gets their own kick. No. He had his own. He has the Westbrook zeros, which was not the most popular sneaker of all time.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:24)
I know players get it.

**Craig Carton** (3:25)
But he winds up. What do you think he averaged for his career?

**Chris McMonigle** (3:29)
Averaged?

**Craig Carton** (3:30)
Yeah.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:31)
What do you think his average was?

**Craig Carton** (3:33)
3 bounds and assists.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:34)
Yeah, I don't know. Career, where do you average? 19 points, 20 points?
