Ruby & Sapphire Not Looking Good After this Pokémon HOME Update
It's Super Effective: A Pokemon Podcast
October 12, 2026
Pokopia gets a spooky new event later this week! Pokémon HOME gets updated adding more storage, transfers of Safari Balls from Pokémon GO and only one-way support from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. This does not bode well if games like Ruby and Sapphire come out and everything is one-way.

What's up, everyone?
Steve Black Jr. (1:25)
Welcome to the 742nd episode of the Pokemon Podcast.
SPEAKER_3 (1:29)
It's super effective.
Steve Black Jr. (1:30)
I'm your host, Steve. With me is Bobby.
Bobby (1:33)
Hello.
I guess my complaining last week about it being so hot worked because we have like a storm this weekend. So a little bit different weather, which is, you know, hey, California always needs some rain.
SPEAKER_6 (1:47)
So you're twice a year rain.
SPEAKER_7 (1:49)
Yeah, gotta get in there.
Steve Black Jr. (1:52)
Austin also here.
Austin (1:53)
I have been loving the new Avatar show. I don't know if any of you are Avatar the Last Airbender fans. However, the new show just started. It's very good. First three episodes are out. Not an ad.
Steve Black Jr. (2:05)
Okay, where can we watch this?
Austin (2:08)
Paramount Plus.
Steve Black Jr. (2:10)
Don't have that.
Austin (2:12)
And then when you're there, you can watch your Survivor, your Big Brother. Okay.
Bobby (2:16)
Right.
Austin (2:17)
So you might as well.
Bobby (2:18)
Yeah.
Steve Black Jr. (2:19)
You're like the perfect target market for Paramount Plus at this point.
Austin (2:22)
Yeah, but honestly, they're not a good company.
Bobby (2:27)
None of them are. What do you think?
Austin (2:29)
But I am the target audience. They got me. They got me.
Steve Black Jr. (2:34)
Well, we got you in the passenger seat, as you can listen to this show.
SPEAKER_6 (2:42)
And I'll tell you what you're in for.
Steve Black Jr. (2:45)
We have Pokopia news. We have some Pokémon Sleep news. The Pokémon HOME update is here. We could talk about that. Pokémon GO also had an update, a Quality of Life update. The Fossil Museum is moving. And then if you stick around for a bonus segment, we will talk about Delta Rain, some more TCG stuff in the bonus segment. I also went to more card shops, visited Tom Brady again.
Here's a little sample of the TCG stuff before you decide that you want to go to patreon.com/pkmncst to get more TCG bonus stuff or just longer episodes in general, because that's what the patrons were.
I had a handful of people reach out to me saying that they're a parent and they never thought about taking their kids to a card shop. They're going to do that because that was eye-opening to them. Of like, oh, instead of trying to get booster packs, I could just take my kid to a card shop and they could just go through a dollar bin and spend like 10 bucks and walk away with cards they actually want.
Bobby (3:56)
It's great. I'm glad that people are like, glad we're making people realize that that's a possibility because it is.
Austin (4:03)
Yeah, yeah, because it can get so frustrating trying to find packs, right? And so this is a nice way to enjoy the hobby again.
Steve Black Jr. (4:09)
Oh, don't, I've found a lot of packs this weekend. Were they two to three times overpriced?
Bobby (4:14)
Yes.
Austin (4:16)
We don't buy those ones.
Steve Black Jr. (4:17)
I actually I was here again, here more preview for the, you know, the if you want more TCG stuff, that'll be in the bonus segment. I was in Mall America. If if you want Pokemon cards, Mall America has many places you can get Pokemon cards from again, two to three times overpriced, but they have them.
