All right, well, okay, we'll run this through. I was 14 years old, wouldn't go to school. My mother knew all the Truant officers by their first name. I forged a birth certificate, joined the Texas 49th Armored Division at Love Field at 14 years old. Stayed in there, learned how to drive a Sherman tank at 15 Used to drive around out of Great Bond Lake when they were building a dam out there, pushing up stumps with the Sherman tank.
I was 14, 15 years old. I used that background and the ID that was issued to me for the 49th Armored Division to get into the regular Army, Fourth Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas and that's where I eventually became associated through an incident led into being touched by the fingerprinted by the CIA. That was an incident there in Fort Bliss on the hand grenade range where my drill instructor took a grenade and threw it in the bunker where me and another boy was throwing hand grenades, a practice range, hand grenades, at a little white post about 40 feet away. I looked up and my drill instructor had thrown a hand grenade in the bunker where Leroy and I were throwing grenades and he was laughing. I picked up a grenade and I saw him laughing and I threw a grenade back at him, and it exploded and it was a practice grenade, and white smoke went all over him, and the other drill instructor started laughing, and he got really peed off, jumped down in the bunker, grabbed me, took me to the commanding officer and said, I tried to kill him.
