All right, let's move on to some movies and random shit going on. So, oh, I gotta find this. This one's gonna be just for Taylor first, if I can find it. So I need to...
So we're not gonna go there, because I need to find the tweet. Robert Eggers. So I'll start with you, Kirkland. Doing...
Kirkland (0:15)
Taylor's tweet, you gotta... Yeah, what's this?
SPEAKER_1 (0:17)
What's this?
Kirkland (0:18)
I found this, 2008 Yeah, speak.
SPEAKER_1 (0:22)
Discuss.
Robert Eggers, doing Romeo & Juliet. You excited about that?
Kirkland (0:27)
You're the Eggers guy?
SPEAKER_1 (0:28)
Yes.
Kirkland (0:28)
I am so excited for anything that Robert Eggers does, because it's very...
Like, if I see something like this, I don't give a shit about Romeo & Juliet. I think I've seen like the Leo movie, which is just weird. That's a weird experience. Yeah. Know a little bit about the play. But like, I know that this is gonna be... I don't think I ever was.
SPEAKER_1 (0:49)
Okay. You weren't playing the same character from Christmas Carol?
Kirkland (0:53)
Oh, Johnny the Elf? No. I would remember vividly about Johnny the Elf like I did.
I was the only elf with a different hat, by the way, in case nobody heard that story. But I love it.
SPEAKER_1 (1:04)
If when we do our Christmas Carol...
Kirkland (1:07)
I'll be Johnny the Elf again.
SPEAKER_1 (1:09)
The good thing about this news was that he said that his Christmas Carol was delayed.
Because Taylor knows. I've been pitching Taylor for years on Christmas Carol. We got to do it. And when Eggers announced we're doing a horror version... And when he announced it, we missed it, we missed our boat. And then he's like, I don't really know what's happening. And then when I saw Johnny Depp's Christmas Carol, which is clearly not a horror one, I'm like, we're back. So if we make our version at one point in GBS Studios, I'm putting Johnny the Elf in this fucking movie.
Kirkland (1:38)
Yeah, it's gonna happen. I can't wait. I'll be ready. I don't think I have that hat anymore. I don't think I ever had it. I think it was a rental. We'll get three prints for you.
But regardless of what the project is, I 100% have faith that this is gonna be an Eggers film. It's gonna be feeling like an Eggers film. I, yeah, 100%, I don't feel there'll ever be a situation where he has to change his style and tone to cater to a producer or something like that. I feel like he would just, yeah, you'd have to.
Taylor (2:12)
As long as they make money.
SPEAKER_1 (2:13)
Like, oh, say that they search a bomb, they're gonna be like, hey.
Kirkland (2:16)
Up until now, it's like very Eggers, like encoded everything that he's done. Like, they feel-
Taylor (2:23)
Absolutely, he's very distinct.
Kirkland (2:25)
Yeah, exactly. And I like, pair that with Romeo & Juliet, fuck yeah. You could throw that on the Minions, and I would trust it.
Eggers-styled Minions movie, like fuck yeah, let's do this. But yeah, I mean, that's just the level of faith I have in this director. Not all of his projects are like 10 out of 10s in my mind, but they're very unique, and I'm expecting to be very interested in one way, shape or form.
Taylor (2:53)
Who's he casting Willem Dafoe as in the story?
SPEAKER_1 (2:56)
Probably one of the dads, probably the dads that are, like the families that are feuding. I think that's like the easy one, because I really don't know what this, because yeah, like as you read Mike, obviously he had issues with Odyssey, but Eggers doing Shakespeare, Chef's Kiss, the dialogue is going to be peak.
Kirkland (3:11)
I'm going to need subtitles. That's the one downfall of these Eggers movies. You know he's going to have that one actor who played.
SPEAKER_1 (3:16)
The parts of us are, Ralph Egginson or whatever.
Kirkland (3:19)
He's so fantastic, but goddamn, I can't understand what he's saying. The portion of tomatoes, the fish and bird ass, sister potatoes, are my daughters.
First time I ever watched The Witch. I have no idea what the fuck this guy is saying, but I'm terrified right now by what he's spewing.
SPEAKER_1 (3:35)
Take the rocket herder. Take the rocket herder.
I won't be cast out.
Kirkland (3:45)
He's so good though. He's so good.
SPEAKER_1 (3:48)
That's the answer right there. Defoe plays one dad, he plays the other dad. I think that's your answer right there, like the feuding families. Cause that's the only thing, is he doing...
