The Knicks check in on Lebron James. The Knicks Free Agency reports are heating up. And they're all surrounding Lebron James. This all started yesterday when NBA insider Jake Fischer reported the following. According to Jake Fischer, the Knicks have officially shown interest in Lebron James. This caused the floodgates to open and reports have been coming out ever since. But it's one thing for an NBA insider to confirm it. It's an entirely different situation when Rich Paul himself actually confirms it. And that's what happened recently. Take a look at this following update. Rich Paul pushed it over the edge when he confirmed this following report. Shout out to Heat Central for giving us this following information. According to them, Rich Paul on Lebron James to the Knicks.
If the Knicks hadn't won the NBA Championship, there would be no board. He would be going to the Knicks. That tells me that Lebron James wanted to be the savior of New York if they did not win a championship. However, at this point in time, Rich Paul also continued by stating this, Jalen Brunson would literally have to pick up the phone and say, Hey man, there's no issue with me.
The Knicks have checked in. This is a major update. According to Rich Paul, if the Knicks did not win an NBA championship, there would be no board. Lebron James would have went to the New York Knicks. But because New York won it all, if the Knicks want Lebron James to join their team, Jalen Brunson would have to pick up the phone and say, We want Lebron James here. And even if that happened, it wouldn't guarantee that Lebron James would join the Knicks, but it would open up that opportunity much bigger than it is right now.
However, I have more information on this. I have an image of Lebron James' whiteboard, and the Knicks are on it, but that doesn't tell the full story. Let's take a look at that whiteboard. The Lebron James whiteboard tells a very interesting story. Now, if you look at it, you will see the New York Knicks on this whiteboard. But look at where they are. All the way on the right side of this board, near the right corner. That's where the Knicks are. That's where the Spurs are. And what this tells me, is that teams that are interested in Lebron James, at least to some level, and have checked in, they're on the board, but they're not in the middle. If you look in the middle, you'll see Lebron James, and he's surrounded by a pair of four players that represent every other team that Lebron James has serious interest in joining. You'll see the 76ers there, the Cavs there, the Timberwolves there, the Nuggets there, and the Miami Heat there. So in my opinion, this whiteboard tells us everything we need to know. Are the Knicks interested in Lebron James? Did they check in on him? Yes, absolutely. We have multiple reports already confirming that. But that doesn't mean the Knicks are a serious team Lebron James is looking to join, at least according to this whiteboard. Five other teams look like they're the main teams Lebron wants to join. This all sounds hopeful, but like I said, if you've been following this team as long as I have, you could go back 16 years, or 12 years, or 10 years, and you can find similar reports regarding Lebron James and The New York Knicks. That's why I have said a number of times, I need to see it before I can believe it. Lebron on a vet minimum contract? I wouldn't mind that, but is that realistic? I don't think so. And these following reports, they confirm my suspicions. Shout out to Steph Bondi for giving us this following information. Now he's a Knicks insider, so what he has to say? I believe it a bit more than anyone else covering this story around the league. According to Bondi, don't count on Lebron James coming to the Knicks, per multiple sources. There was a check-in, but no serious discussions, and a union is very unlikely.
