So let's listen to the intro of Episode 116
Karen Kilgariff (0:58)
Let's do it. Here we go.
Georgia Hardstark (1:00)
Ready? OK.
Were you a cheerleader?
Karen Kilgariff (1:05)
Do I fucking look like I was a cheerleader?
Were you? Yes.
Georgia Hardstark (1:11)
Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense. And looking back, I shouldn't have been.
But if you start anything, Ready OK is a great way to start. Ready? OK.
Karen Kilgariff (1:22)
This is My Favorite Murder, the podcast.
Georgia Hardstark (1:25)
Do you hate cheerleaders?
Karen Kilgariff (1:26)
Hate cheerleaders and cheer don'ts.
Georgia Hardstark (1:28)
And get your her keys on. It's time for your favorite true crime cheerleading podcast, My Favorite Murder.
Karen Kilgariff (1:37)
It's time for the first 45 minutes of your first true crime podcast where there's no true crime.
Georgia Hardstark (1:43)
A lot of personal issues.
Stephen Ray Morris (1:44)
That's Georgia Hardstark.
Karen Kilgariff (1:45)
That's Karen Kilgariff.
Georgia Hardstark (1:48)
And there's Stephen Ray Morris.
Karen Kilgariff (1:50)
Hardstark Kilgariff. We're calling him now.
Stephen Ray Morris (1:52)
Stephen Hardstark Kilgariff.
Karen Kilgariff (1:53)
Yeah, we've changed his name. Oh, Stephen, we've legally changed your name. Stephen.
Georgia Hardstark (1:57)
Cool. Stephen, we also enrolled you in a Montessori kindergarten just so we could get the experience of being hyphenate parents.
Karen Kilgariff (2:04)
That's right. Can I wash my feet? Yes. Did you see someone today on Twitter was like, Georgia, I found this at a library and you weren't wrong. And it's like a children's book called, like, Can I Wash My Feet of Montessori?
No. Or some fucking weird, like, next level.
Georgia Hardstark (2:19)
By Georgia Hardstark.
Karen Kilgariff (2:21)
I quickly put it out just to prove you wrong. And it worked.
Georgia Hardstark (2:26)
You self-published, which is awesome. You planted it in a library.
Karen Kilgariff (2:30)
I was like, someone's going to look in here, random murderina with a Twitter account.
Georgia Hardstark (2:34)
Love it.
Karen Kilgariff (2:35)
I think, as the kids say, this podcast has blazored itself.
Georgia Hardstark (2:40)
I think this podcast has ripped the back out of its own blazer. Yes.
Karen Kilgariff (2:44)
They're cheap Mervyn's blazers. It needs to calm down.
Georgia Hardstark (2:48)
I just had a flash of shopping Mervyn's. So anybody that's not from, I think it's California only.
Karen Kilgariff (2:54)
Okay. I'm sure there's like equivalents at some place.
Georgia Hardstark (2:56)
We'll hear about it. If Mervyn's was in your town, we'd like to know. But we pedal him ahead of Mervyn's, which is one of the only larger stores in my town.
Karen Kilgariff (3:04)
It's like a mini department store.
Georgia Hardstark (3:06)
Right.
Karen Kilgariff (3:06)
It's like a mini cheap department store.
Georgia Hardstark (3:07)
It was almost like the original Target, but it didn't have cool things to buy. It just had like...
Karen Kilgariff (3:12)
Just department store stuff though, like a JCPenney.
Georgia Hardstark (3:14)
Exactly. But almost like lower rent than JCPenney. Like JCPenney was for the rich kids. We were over at Mervyn's.
And that's where you bought us, where everybody in my school and town bought their first bra.
Karen Kilgariff (3:26)
I was going to say I stole my first bra from Mervyn's.
Georgia Hardstark (3:30)
We were just trying to pass the fucking time.
Karen Kilgariff (3:32)
The most boring thing in the world was going shopping with your mom at Mervyn's. At Mervyn's.
Georgia Hardstark (3:37)
At Mervyn's today.
Karen Kilgariff (3:39)
I learned real quick that my mom would be like, come shopping with me, I'll buy you a lipstick. Or she'll buy me a little trinket, which is great.
And I'd be like, OK. But then I didn't realize that meant four and a half hours of my mom in the fucking dressing room. Like four and a half literal hours. Of her trying stuff on. Of her trying shit on. And a fucking MAC lipstick is not worth it.
Georgia Hardstark (4:01)
So she would get that out of you when you were more of a teen?
