Hello!

Georgia Hardstark (0:18)

And welcome to Rewind with Karen and Georgia.

Karen Kilgariff (0:21)

This is the show where we look back on our old episodes with all new insights, case updates, and pop culture buzzwords.

Georgia Hardstark (0:27)

Today, we're rewinding to episode 114, which we named Civic Order.

Karen Kilgariff (0:32)

This episode originally came out on March 29th, 2018

Georgia Hardstark (0:36)

Let's get into it, the intro of episode 114

Karen Kilgariff (0:43)

Welcome to My Favorite Murder.

Georgia Hardstark (0:45)

That's Karen Kilgariff.

Karen Kilgariff (0:47)

That's Georgia Hardstark.

Georgia Hardstark (0:48)

And this is the podcast that tells you what.

Karen Kilgariff (0:54)

It tells you.

Georgia Hardstark (0:57)

It tells you what?

Karen Kilgariff (0:58)

Kind of the worst things you could possibly hear.

Georgia Hardstark (1:00)

Yeah.

Karen Kilgariff (1:01)

It really does just tell it right into your ear hole. It just says it right into your eardrum.

Georgia Hardstark (1:07)

Yeah. So if you're laying in bed at night trying to get something to fall asleep to, this is it.

Karen Kilgariff (1:12)

I had a dream that Tenacious D broke up. Am I wrong?

Georgia Hardstark (1:19)

That was out of the blue.

Karen Kilgariff (1:22)

Literally a picture just passed through my eyes and my brain.

A picture. I must have fallen asleep in front of something that informed my dream. Yeah.

Georgia Hardstark (1:33)

I hope they didn't.

Karen Kilgariff (1:34)

I mean, they've written nine songs about breaking up.

Georgia Hardstark (1:36)

Yeah, that's probably what it is.

Karen Kilgariff (1:38)

I watched a weird rerun or something. You know what I was going to do?

This is a new corner.

Georgia Hardstark (1:44)

Okay.

Karen Kilgariff (1:46)

Because it's not a correction. But I did.

I listened to the last week's mini-sode. And in thinking about the story of the man that was laying under the movie theater seats, because of course, we, much like the women had happened to, were shocked and surprised that there was a man laying under their movie theater seats for an entire movie.

Georgia Hardstark (2:06)

Yeah.

Karen Kilgariff (2:07)

But so we were laughing and stuff.

But I did want to underline, if that ever happens, call the police immediately. Don't wait for movie theater employees to call the police. Don't wait for permission to call the police.

Georgia Hardstark (2:20)

Yeah.

Karen Kilgariff (2:21)

You call the police immediately because the person that lays under movie theater seats is only going to do weirder and more fucked up stuff afterwards.

Georgia Hardstark (2:30)

Totally.

Karen Kilgariff (2:31)

So I felt bad after I heard that because we were laughing so hard.

Georgia Hardstark (2:36)

We did say in it that they talked to the manager and ultimately we called the police.

Karen Kilgariff (2:40)

Yes.

Georgia Hardstark (2:41)

But I think they were just so shocked by it.

Karen Kilgariff (2:44)

Exactly. As were we. Yeah. We didn't call the police either. No, actually on the re-list and I called the police. I called Burbank Police. I just wanted to say that sometimes weird thing is you don't have to be touched or assaulted in any way.

That deserved a police call for sure. They should have felt 100 percent great doing that.

Georgia Hardstark (3:06)

Yeah.

Karen Kilgariff (3:07)

I guess, I don't know, maybe that's too random.

Georgia Hardstark (3:10)

I wanted to underline it. You've been thinking about it, holding it in. Now there it is.

Karen Kilgariff (3:15)

If you don't know what Civic Order behavior violates, you can still call the police if you feel weird.

Georgia Hardstark (3:24)

They'll get the book out from the shelf, the Civic Order book.

Karen Kilgariff (3:27)

They'll pull it all down and then get into their police cruiser. Come help you.

Georgia Hardstark (3:33)

Okay. Now we have to have a different corner.

Karen Kilgariff (3:35)

Okay.

Georgia Hardstark (3:35)

That it's been asked of us.

Karen Kilgariff (3:38)

It's been doing and then we're getting back together. They're getting back together.

Georgia Hardstark (3:43)

Is that tenacity?

Karen Kilgariff (3:47)

Oh, I love tenacity. It's my tenacity.

Georgia Hardstark (3:53)

No.

Karen Kilgariff (3:54)

Sorry.

Georgia Hardstark (3:56)

Okay. We have to talk about this wild, wild country corner. Oh, Can people? Yes. We watched it. Everyone.

Karen Kilgariff (4:04)

Guys, let's update a couple of things. We heard about the lady's body that was found in the wall years later.

Georgia Hardstark (4:10)

Yeah.

Karen Kilgariff (4:10)

Thank you. Amazing story. Combined everything. We got a lot of tweets about it.

Georgia Hardstark (4:16)

Yep.

Karen Kilgariff (4:16)

All the way up to and including this documentary that is incredibly done, beautifully done, brilliantly done.
