Welcome back to the Daily Crypto Roundup. Revolut handed passports, home addresses and Bitcoin histories to someone using a government agency's real email domain. No private keys or funds were reported stolen, but the leak may have connected people to their on-chain activity. Meanwhile, two crypto billionaires have put $97 million behind Reform UK, Ethereum funds defied Bitcoin outflows, and an illegal mining site is exposing a new form of organized crime. At the time of recording, Bitcoin is around $77,450, down approximately 1.5% over 24 hours. Ethereum is near $2,539 and down roughly 2.5%.

XRP is close to $1.37, lower by about 1.4%.

BNB is the exception, around $736 and up approximately 0.5%.

Solana is near $102, Hyperliquid is close to $80.40, Cardano is around $0.21, and Chainlink is near $11.58.

Hyperliquid is the weakest move in this group, down almost 3%.

Availability and eligibility vary by region. The 20 XRP is supplied by Crypto News Today, not Kraken. This is not financial advice. Crypto trading involves risk of loss. The lead story begins with a fraudulent request that looked authentic because it came from an email account inside an official government agency's domain. Revolut told affected customers that the message carried valid domain authentication credentials.

The company therefore treated it as a lawful agency request and supplied the information before contacting the agency separately and discovering the deception. The exposed data included names, dates of birth, occupations, addresses, phone numbers, passports or driving licenses, verification selfies, international bank account numbers, statements, withdrawal records and transaction histories, including Bitcoin activity. Revolut said biometric facial telemetry was not involved. The notice did not list passwords, private keys or security codes. This was not evidence that someone broke Bitcoin's cryptography or entered wallets. Revolut said customer funds and assets remained secure, but identity documents, a home address and Bitcoin history can connect a public trail to a real household, creating risks from tailored phishing to physical targeting. Revolut has not disclosed how many customers were affected or named the government agency. On-chain investigator Zach XBT said the incident appeared limited and may have targeted high net worth users, but Revolut's notice did not confirm either point. No subsequent theft or misuse of the records had been documented at recording time. The company said it blocked the source and notified affected customers and regulators. Its explanation was that the request was fulfilled, under the reasonable belief that it was authentic. That does not settle whether one authenticated email should release this volume of data. What changed today is the public disclosure and detailed record list. What did not change is control of customer Bitcoin or proof of financial loss. Affected users can harden accounts and treat personalized contact as hostile. Attackers gain information that can make a scam credible. Financial firms now face a harder question. Should an emergency disclosure require an independent callback or second government channel?

Would you accept slower responses to legitimate law enforcement if every request for identity and transaction data required verification outside email? Watch for Revolut's affected customer count, the agency's identity, a regulator's findings and evidence of any follow-on fraud. The interpretation changes if the notice expands to passwords, private keys or account access. None was reported today.

The second story moves from private financial data to political influence. Cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harbourn announced today that he had donated 36 million pounds, about 49 million dollars, to Reform UK. He matched the 36 million pounds contribution announced Friday by BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo. Together, the two donations are worth about 97 million dollars and equal the two largest individual contributions ever made to a British political party. The total exceeds what either the Labour Party or Conservative Party spent in last year's election. Reform says it puts the party on a level playing field before the next election, due by 2029

Harbourn wrote that he expects nothing in return.

Reform already promises policies that could benefit crypto, including lower capital gains tax and a Bitcoin reserve fund at the Bank of England. A donation does not prove a policy was purchased, and both donors say they want the party ready for government. Critics argue that money this large can influence politics without an explicit bargain. Liberal Democrat spokesperson Lisa Smart accused Nigel Farage of buying his way into power. What changed today is Harbourn's matching contribution, taking the 48-hour total to 72 million pounds. What did not change is British crypto tax policy, the Bank of England's reserves or the next election result. Reform also remains under separate investigation over alleged foreign-funded polling, which it denies. The Metropolitan Police Inquiry and Parliament's examination of an earlier personal gift are allegations and processes, not findings that today's donations were unlawful. Crypto-friendly companies and investors could gain if Reform turns its policies into law. Rival parties and voters who want donation caps may see the funding as a democratic risk. The thesis that this money will change crypto policy fails if Reform does not win power or if its proposals never survive Parliament. Watch the Electoral Commission filings, any move to cap donations. Reform's detailed crypto platform and the next general election timetable. The third story is a completed week of fund flows that contradicts the idea that institutions treated every crypto asset alike. United States spot Bitcoin exchange traded funds lost 462.7 million dollars across all four trading sessions from September 8th through September 11th. Thursday supplied 282.7 million dollars of that loss, while Friday's outflow eased to 13.2 million dollars. Ethereum exchange traded funds moved the other way. They gained 216.4 million dollars on Friday, turning the week positive by 196.9 million dollars. Solana funds added a modest 9.7 million dollars, while hyperliquid funds lost 26.5 million dollars.
