Hello, and welcome to the Establish The Run rest of season top 150 ranking show. My name is Adam Levitan. Each and every Wednesday, we are here to discuss our rest of season top 150 rankings and how that plays into the season long trade market, our redraft trade calculator, buy lows, sell highs and more. Be sure to stay tuned to the end. We will answer your listener questions and submit our one move to make ahead of week three.
For this, I am joined by two members of our projections team, Mark Dankenbring and Jack Miller, as well as the season long bro you know and love, John Daigle. Mark, how's it going today?
Mark Dankenbring (1:01)
It's all right, Adam, a little good, a little bad. And weak too, obviously a lot of injuries. My two highest own players this year are Jaden Daniels and Devontae Adams. So obviously bad on the Daniels front, but good on the Devontae front. So trying to lean into the positive here.
Adam Levitan (1:14)
Good. Jack, how's it going today?
Jack Miller (1:16)
It's going okay. I was going to say the same thing as Mark. On our call last week, Daigle was getting on me for checking my press fall results after week one. But I think after the Jaden Daniels injury, I think that he's right and I'm just not going to check the rest of the year and maybe delete all the apps entirely.
But besides that, it's going okay.
Adam Levitan (1:35)
Daigle, how are you?
John Daigle (1:38)
With the weather changing, I'm currently playing my flu game right now on this show. So let's get to it.
Adam Levitan (1:43)
Yes, you do not sound too well, brother. Appreciate you being here.
Two quick notes before we get started. First, if you want access to our rest of season top 150 rankings on a weekly basis, you need DraftKit Pro. DraftKit Pro also comes with our Redraft Trade Calculator, which is really simple. You put in any trade. We'll tell you which side we prefer. We will show you how that works later on in the show. DraftKit Pro also comes with our Dynasty Trade Calculator, Thorman's rankings each week and more. Second, if you are serious about your fantasy team or you are interested in playing DFS or other more serious forms of fantasy, I think you'd be crazy not to check out our in-season product. Includes Silva's Matchups, our projections for every player in every game, Thorn's offensive line, defensive line, rankings slash mismatches, premium shows, tons more. So head to establishtherun.com now for more details on our two NFL products, DraftKit Pro and NFL in-season.
I want to start with some of these quarterback injuries and team level changes that we have seen, Mark. Let's start with the Giants here. Jackson Dart, unfortunately, is going to miss the rest of the season. And please, please don't tweet at me, Adam, he was never gonna stay healthy. He plays like a wild man. He runs, he doesn't, buddy, he was in the pocket. He got hit. Same thing happened to Joe Burrow. Same thing happened to Tom Brady. Same thing happened to a ton of pocket passers who messed up their knees. So yes, it sucks. James Winston will be the quarterback in the foreseeable future here. Mark, we went to 43 overall on Neighbors, 63 on Scadaboo, 112 on likely, obviously all pretty substantial docks of where they were with Dart. Mark, how do you feel about Giants now, rest of season?
Mark Dankenbring (3:35)
I have some mixed feelings here, I think.
Ultimately, you know, we've seen James come in a lot of times as the backup quarterback and really lead fantasy charged offenses. So like in that sense, I'm a little bit, I wouldn't say excited, but like, I don't think it's like the worst backup quarterback situation we've ever seen. Certainly, you know, the Monday night game against the Rams did not look good for James. He was throwing ducks out there, a couple of horrible passes and, you know, just easy interceptions for the Rams. I think ultimately I'm going to chalk that up to, you know, not getting the reps for warmup time and just came into the game a little cold. So I think moving forward, I'm a little bit, you know, optimistic that Jameis is going to play better. Just looking back to last year, he had a game against Detroit where he threw for 366 yards and two touchdowns and, you know, his weapons were Wondell Robinson and Theo Johnson at the time. So he still does have Malik neighbors and Isaiah Likely this year. On a team level, I'm a little bit concerned that, you know, the Giants are just really going to lean into the running game here, though, with Harbaugh and, you know, obviously, Scadaboo and the four running back in Patrick Ricard, you know, combo they have in the backfield here. So again, you know, I see some positives in it for fantasy that, like, I don't think it's going to be as bad as it looked on Monday night. You have Jameis for the rest of the season here. They also do have a pretty favorable schedule upcoming in the next few games. They get the Titans, Cardinals, Commanders and Saints in the next four weeks. So I think, like, in good matchups, neighbors and Likely are going to be playable. The backfield was a spot I was pretty much staying away from already, you know, Cel Scadaboo was my move last week, so I'm still kind of in that camp. But, you know, obviously it sucks for Dart and the Giants overall as a team. But I think, like, for fantasy, there's probably still going to be some decent games here for the Giants.
