One of the most talented people I've ever met in my life.
Drew Lane (0:09)
Thank you.
And what's poppin? We are on The Deals of the d.com studios. On a Sunday, we've got a big pile of sports coming up. Hall Financial's our sponsor. You know Hall Financial, the home of Jerry Chen.
Marc Fellhauer (0:21)
Oh, he's the best.
Drew Lane (0:23)
Loved that guy. A lot of you worked with him, done a refi there, got in a mortgage there. Some of you haven't been fortunate enough to work with Jerry Chen yet, but hopefully you will down the road. Mortgage rates, well, they've been up, they've been down, but actually when they creeped up, they came right back down the next day. So they've got a lot of room to work with you and over 7,000 five-star views. Give them a shot if you're looking to find some money with a refi. Hall Financial is the place, or if you want to originate a mortgage as well. The majority of their loans close in nine business days or less. And of course, a fast and reliable mortgage process can help make an offer. Stand out, fast closings, clear communication, thousands of five-star views. And Jerry Chen, that's what separates Hall Financial. Go to callhallfirst.com/drew, see how quickly they get back to you. That's callhallfirst.com/drew.
And Eli, start now with what, college football?
Eli Zaret (1:13)
Oh, man. Well, Dr. Yaldo brings me here. And again, there's more we could talk about in sports. What a crazy ass week this was from Sydney Sweeney, to upsetting female athletes, to NASCAR guys fighting each other, to that Australian runner shitting all over herself in a race, and then you got, oh, too much. But anyway, we should start with college football. Yeah, it's back and forth, and Michigan beat UTEP. Awful first half. Marc was there, I'm thinking, man, you gave away 35 points on this. You're losing 14 to 7
Low, low. They scored 38 straight points.
Well, you know, you're playing against guys half your size, so you figured falling down 14-7 was a little bit alarming. But Michigan has fumbled six times, lost four of them in three games, but they came back. Underwood lost the second fumble of the season. Bryce Underwood played a little bit better, though, looked better than he had.
Drew Lane (2:15)
Can you really judge anything against the Miners, though?
Eli Zaret (2:17)
No, exactly. I mean, you can't tell anything.
Drew Lane (2:19)
We can't play against Indiana.
Marc Fellhauer (2:20)
I'll say this. Compare it to how he played against Western and how he just would just eyeball receivers and throw it. He's actually trying to make reads now.
Eli Zaret (2:29)
Yeah, he's made some progress. Why it didn't happen in the offseason, I don't know.
Drew Lane (2:33)
I was listening to 97-1 this morning, and 97-1, the callers are saying, and there was pretty much agreement that, and this sounds like a narrative to me, that Underwood's basically a freshman. They had no coaching last year. He was not coached at all.
Marc Fellhauer (2:47)
That's ridiculous.
Drew Lane (2:48)
He came into this year with all these bad habits, and they're still trying to straighten him out.
Marc Fellhauer (2:53)
Yeah, they didn't have a quarterback coach last year, which is absurd.
Drew Lane (2:56)
So no one coached him the whole year.
Marc Fellhauer (2:57)
But he's been coached since the spring, right?
BranDon (3:01)
Yeah.
Drew Lane (3:02)
Really, no one coached him last year?
BranDon (3:04)
No one offered to help him?
Eli Zaret (3:05)
No one is of course an exaggeration.
Drew Lane (3:07)
Because before the season last year, they said he was the most mature freshman ever and that he was more ready than any freshman in the history of freshmen.
Eli Zaret (3:14)
You don't know about freshmen.
Drew Lane (3:15)
Lies, but yeah.
Eli Zaret (3:16)
That's like when you draft guys in the NFL and they get there and they can't play. It's just, it's a whole different level. But he does have the tools. He throws the ball 100 miles an hour. He's fast, he's shifting, he's run quite well.
Roberto (3:28)
He's a good runner, he is a good runner.
Eli Zaret (3:30)
He's waist 230 pounds, he's got a rocket arm. So the potential is there.
Marc Fellhauer (3:36)
Just has to protect the ball, period.
Eli Zaret (3:38)
Yeah, cause that was a bad fumble.
He wasn't even being tackled, it was just knocked out of his hands. But we'll learn a lot more about Michigan when they host number 18 Iowa on Saturday. Iowa has beat Northern Iowa 55-0 with 640 yards of offense. But you never know, just like the Bears scored 59 points last week, and now they got three in the fourth quarter against the Vikings.
