Filling up out there, watching BYU and Notre Dame. There will be another top 10 team go down today as we have the two and the eight that are playing right there. Three nothing UCLA over Wisconsin early on in that one, but BYU goes down on their first drive. Wes puts it into the end zone. We'll see if Notre Dame can answer.
Wes Reynolds (0:42)
There was an ejection, by the way. There was a targeting drive that kept that alive for BYU. Bubacar Traore ejected from the game, 231 in one of their starting defensive ends. So Irish in a little bit of a hole early is, let's get nuts on this college football day. Let's have another one.
Matt Brown (1:00)
You want to 7-7 Miami, Florida.
Wes Reynolds (1:03)
Exactly.
Matt Brown (1:04)
12 minutes left in the second quarter. Again, Miami goes off as 20-point favorites in this one. We're all tied up.
Wes Reynolds (1:10)
We're old enough to remember when that game would be on any given Saturday would be the featured game of the day.
And it would draw monster numbers, and just so many legendary games there. Now it's just like, it seems like another game. That was like almost the rivalry back in the day, certainly in the 80s and the early 90s.
Matt Brown (1:31)
Let's see what else is going on. Kentucky with a 7-0 lead currently over Oklahoma and Houston. Oklahoma State sitting 7-3.
Wes Reynolds (1:39)
That, by the way, ranked matchup. Teams trying to move up in that big 12 So, you know, when we were looking at Heisman odds, and I'm not endorsing taking a bunch of long shots at this point, but if you were looking for somebody a little bit down the board, a guy that's going to at least put up big numbers and maybe get to be a finalist, I don't know if he win Drew Mestermaker from Oklahoma State at 40-1.
Oklahoma State's going to throw, throw, throw, because keep in mind, this is the same group. Of course, the North Texas coach, he came with him. So, you know, they run the same offense and, you know, with Oklahoma State talent instead of North Texas talent. So, at 40-1, maybe that's as deep as I would go for a long shot if you're looking down the board. Everybody else, I think, is just kind of donating money.
Matt Brown (2:28)
I know we are in the midst of a great college football day. I know we're in the middle of previewing all these NFL games for tomorrow, but we do have a baseball game here tonight as Tampa Bay and Cleveland get postponed yesterday. So, they're going to go tonight as we sit right now.
A little bit of a, you know, about a coin flip, Wes, a little bit shaded towards Tampa, but it depends on which book you're at. You know, pretty tight anywhere you look. Six and a half, the prevailing total out there. We're going to have Martinez going on the Tampa Bay side of things, which kind of surprised me that he had as good of a season as he did. But hey, for whatever reason, you end up in Tampa and you just pitch better. Well, it's just like everybody does.
Wes Reynolds (3:08)
And he's been better against left-handed batters, which the Guardians clearly have a lot of tonight. So is there a possibility he could go a little bit deeper in the game? I ended up not playing anything because this was seven with some heavy juice last night. I was hoping, I think there was a seven put out on open once we had the postponement. I missed it. And then it was six and a half. So I wasn't going to play that necessarily. I guess a small lean to Nick Martinez and his overouts at 11 and a half. That means he's got to go four innings. But we know Kevin Cash is kind of want to pull his starters, maybe with the exception of Drew Rasmussen, who he gives a little bit of a leash. But all these other guys, Griffin Jacks, Nick Martinez, Freddie Peralta, a little bit.
He'll go to that bullpen immediately. And he did that in the regular season too. So he'll certainly do it in the postseason. Nick Martinez only went three and two thirds in New York in that divisional game. So right at the number 11 and a half, if you made me, I go 11 and a half over. That is now no action in Cleveland.
