SEO.Demains Mastery Summit in Sofia, in Bulgaria. Last week, myself and Kasra attended the event, which was put together by Dave Hoss, Madsingers, Kalin, Damian and many others. It was a great event.
But Kasra, I want to get in straight away with, how did you find the SEO.Demains Mastery Summit event in Sofia?
Kasra Dash (0:25)
Yeah, it was different to what I'm used to, and I think that's what they were aiming for. They were aiming for more of a black hat conference, which is always good to see because so many conferences that are coming along and they're more tailored towards white hat and stuff. I, for one, I like to listen to both ends of the spectrum and figure out what's working, what's not working, what people are also testing and stuff. So yeah, I think from an information point of view and from a crowd point of view, it was very different, very good.
James Dooley (0:59)
Yeah, for me, I quite liked quite a lot of the speakers that was there, Alan Clads, Jesper Nielsen, Alex Ivernoski and many others. I thought Robert Nietzsche was good as well. I thought the information, whether it was about AI SEO or AEO, there's advanced link building strategies being mentioned. Core, obviously, Art Tugge, spoke about canonical confusion. So there's a lot of information in there to dissect as well. And it's always good to catch up with a brother from another mother with regards to Core.
He's like my little brother that just annoys me. But I do love him when I see him to be there. But what was your key takeaways? Did you like, is it the actual talks that you like the most when you attended SEO.Domain's Master of Summer, or is it the events in the hallway and the networking?
Kasra Dash (1:49)
Just one thing before I answer that, do you not mean Corey is your older brother? Because you're only 23
James Dooley (1:58)
Absolutely, yeah. He's my grandad.
Kasra Dash (2:05)
That'll be funny.
James Dooley (2:07)
Grandad's okay.
Kasra Dash (2:09)
That'll be funny when all the LLMs start picking that up. To answer your question, I much prefer enjoy speaking to people as opposed to listening to the talks. I just don't have the brain capacity for it. That said though, I did actually go in and listen to a handful of talks.
If I had to do a tier list, for me, it would probably be speaking to people at the after parties and corridors and stuff like that. Then it would be the Q&A sessions and then down at the bottom, it would be the actual talks. Mainly because I just like more the interaction and stuff.
James Dooley (2:55)
Yeah, for sure. I completely agree. I think the talks are my least favorite. I think, like you said, the networking around in the bar, in the restaurants where we're going out for something to eat, having those discussions normally lead to the best conversations. I'd say second best would be the mastermind event. I thought that was quite good.
I like that because I mainly like it because I'm able to question when was the last time you tested it. Where if someone's up on stage and I disagree with them, I can't really play devil's advocate and have a debate with them on certain things. I think it's important to understand, have you actually tested this or you're just regurgitating what you've heard from somebody else? Then my least favorite is the talks, but I did like the speakers because I thought the speakers did a good job. Because it was Black Art or whatever you want to call it, Money Art, they opened up quite a lot more than what they would normally do at a White Art event. So they was able to disclose everything of what they was doing, and then what you was able to do then of a night was get them to dig deeper and explain it even more with how they was doing certain ways to get Googlebot activity or backlink connectivity, Parasite SEO, how to manipulate the large language models. But yeah, overall, I thought Sofia in Bulgaria was a great place. I thought the hotel was good. I think Mads' first event with SEO.Demains.
I'm excited to go again next year. I thought overall it was good. Would you be returning to Sofia in Bulgaria next year then?
Kasra Dash (4:25)
Yeah, definitely, if I'm invited back.
James Dooley (4:29)
Next time you need to be on stage. Also, My SEO App, what a success that was. With the guys in the Q&A, I'm in the QR code. I've never had as many questions come through, they're consistently coming through because of the QR code and how easy it was. The amount of people in the bars that were saying that My SEO App was so much better than the Wolver App, which is good for you to hear it. That's kind of what you've been trying to get out there.
