Yay Networks.

Amy Nichols (1:41)

13 has been my lucky number for a while. Like it's always a sign of good things to come for me.

This is 13, A Taylor Swift Fan Podcast. Breaking down every song, every Easter egg, every era, and every theory.

Hosted by the biggest Swifties, Nick Adams, Ana Casillas, Amy Nichols, and Lacey Gee.

Nick Adams (2:07)

Welcome to 13, A Taylor Swift Fan Podcast. I'm Nick Adams.

Ana Szabo (2:10)

I'm Ana.

Lacey Gee (2:11)

Amy. And I'm Lacey Gee.

Nick Adams (2:13)

Today, we are going to break down our favorite tracks from the life of a showgirl, The Encore.

Ana Szabo (2:20)

Yes, specifically just the four from The Encore.

Nick Adams (2:22)

Just The Encore. So Taylor Swift, if you didn't know, she released four new songs and she put them on The Encore. Or she put them on The Life of a Showgirl and she's called it The Encore. So the four songs that we have to choose from are Patient Zero, Cleveland, Pink Clouding and Babylon.

Lacey Gee (2:40)

And if you see on The Life of a Showgirl, the deluxe album now, it says Disc 1 and Disc 2 These are the four songs on Disc 2

Some people think that Phil's incomplete. Is there more songs that are going to be added? Or is this truly an encore? You come back, do a couple songs and then call it quits. Final bow.

Amy Nichols (3:05)

Have you ever been to a concert where you had a second encore?

Lacey Gee (3:09)

Two encores?

Amy Nichols (3:10)

Yes, I have been to one where there were two encores. That's so good. So, I mean, it's not crazy.

Ana Szabo (3:16)

But typically, and correct me about your experience, but I think I was at a concert once where the second encore was just one song.

Amy Nichols (3:22)

Oh, I don't remember the specifics of it.

Ana Szabo (3:24)

Because it's like the one song that's like there's no way they're not going to play it.

Nick Adams (3:28)

I know, that's always so frustrating. You're not going to play your biggest hit.

SPEAKER_7 (3:32)

You always know, that's why they keep on encore-ing.

Nick Adams (3:33)

And as you're leaving, the music keeps playing for like five minutes and then you come out.

SPEAKER_7 (3:37)

The lights don't go up.

Nick Adams (3:39)

Now we're going to sing Hotel California.

Lacey Gee (3:42)

I was going to say, do you ever finally give up when the lights do come on? Like you're holding out and other people are leaving and it's like, no, I know that there's more. And then the lights come on and it's like, dang it.

Nick Adams (3:54)

I would love for NARS to do an encore like 30 minutes later. And it's just the real fans, the true fans. Or it's just the people who are like, I'm going to wait till the parking garage clears out first.
