Russia is reportedly losing up to 25,000 soldiers a month in Ukraine — more in a single month than the Soviet Union lost in a decade in Afghanistan, according to NATO — and yet Putin is preparing to escalate rather than negotiate.

Putin's preparing to escalate war. A lot of people are worried in EU because militaries are moving, countries are moving their military.

There's some movements going on. And Trump yesterday said that they're planning on building a new US base in Poland, as NATO ally leader warns of real risk from Russia. And that's a real conversation that's being had with the military base being led there. And Ukraine launches 1,000 drones at Russia, including hundreds fired at Moscow, in largest attack ever. This isn't like a small little thing we're talking about. The largest attack ever just happened. Tom, how serious you think this is?

Tom (1:04)

I think this is really serious. Three things happened over the weekend. Why do these all happen in threes? The first thing happened over the weekend is that Zelensky and Witkow and Kushner had been speaking in recent weeks, recent days. And Zelensky came out and thanked the US president for a phone call.

Think about how far this has come. My goodness. Remember, they were screaming in the Oval Office a year and a half ago, and he's sitting there with JD Vanson or getting into it, and now he's actually thanking the president for a civil phone call and for peace discussion. So point one, there's been peace discussions in the back door. Point two, publicly, Zelensky and Trump, hey, thank you very much, Mr. President, I appreciate this. And then point three, it's been hitting the fan between Ukraine and Russia. They're really escalating things. It's not just one little drone or a little missile that comes over to a fuel dump, and they say, see, I can get you, I can get you. No, this is big. And this is making, this makes me nervous about what's going on over in Russia, because I think this is an escalation, and Putin doesn't want this. And when they start hitting each other's oil infrastructure, the whole world loses, because we're right now on demand edge anyway. And Pat, I think this is a very significant escalation. This needs to back off.

Patrick Bet-David (2:29)

If this is the largest attack Ukraine has done, and he's saying, I want to thank the president of the conversation I had, do you believe the president knew Ukraine's about to do the largest attack they've ever done on Putin, on Russia?

Tom (2:43)

How can you not?

Patrick Bet-David (2:44)

Okay. Do you agree? Yeah. So then here's a question. Then the question becomes, what do you think if you're Putin and this just happened?

What do you think if you're Putin and you get calls from US? Do you think US calls and says Ukraine's about to attack you, or you think that was a surprise attack and Russia didn't know at all? You think Russia knew?

SPEAKER_4 (3:06)

Real value shows up in reliability. You don't have to second guess. Like a set of firestone all season tires, they're designed to deliver confidence inspiring wet weather traction and a quieter ride no matter the road, season after season. Firestone all season tires. For durability, you can count on, just like people count on you.

Firestone, always dependable since 1900

Tom (3:37)

I think the intelligence is so good these days.

Patrick Bet-David (3:39)

Not the intelligence. You think Russia and the US gave them that message?

Tom (3:42)

I don't think we were.

Patrick Bet-David (3:43)

I agree. I don't think they did. Okay, so you're now Putin, and I think the story just came out.

Stories with Putin still being in power, and then Trump tweeted this thing here. I don't know if you guys want to put this up, just a couple hours ago. Russia has unfortunately lost control of its diesel oil industry due to its war with Ukraine. A large number of their diesel refineries have been blown up and are at least temporarily out of commission. This ridiculous and never-ending war with Ukraine must be ended. The whole world suffers as 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are being killed each month. What a shame. That's a direct call out to who?

SPEAKER_5 (4:27)

To Putin.

Patrick Bet-David (4:28)

To Putin. Now, the pro-Putin people will say what?

You guys, when you guys did the Warsaw agreement, you guys promised us you're not gonna be constantly going east, and you keep going constantly east, and now you're saying you want to build a military base in Poland? What happened to all the NATO ally, and you know you guys are not going to do this? You know, so the part I want to be thinking about right now is, I mean, of course, we're speculating.
