Hello, Sondra.

I've just been shouted at in the street. Won't deter me, though, from my mission of football, truth, his Thursday's Totally Football Show.

Carabao Wild, Man United. Collapse against Brighton means mood fails too. Arsenal, one to go from Max Stalman and Fleetwood in the next round means unique headline opportunities in four weeks' time, getting ours in early. We talk Szoboszlai, Sunderland, Arzett, Man City's class of 22, West Ham, what happened next, and what awaits this weekend in the Premier League. Thursday, the 17th of September. In our special Thursday studio, we welcome Duncan Alexander. Hi. Hi. We welcome back, Dan Kilpatrick.

Dan Kilpatrick (0:49)

Hello.

James Richardson (0:49)

Lovely to see you, Dan.

Dan Kilpatrick (0:50)

And you.

James Richardson (0:51)

Look who's here, Benji Lanyado.

Benji Lanyado (0:53)

Benji Mbo.

James Richardson (0:55)

Oh, CEO of PicFair. All right. Any PicFan news?

Benji Lanyado (1:00)

Loads. Just growing and growing. People are still taking photographs. There's a massive comeback in compact cameras. Have you noticed this?

People are actually getting, because of AI and the startling and scary pace of technological progress, people are going back to crappy point and click cameras. It's happening.

James Richardson (1:18)

Okay. Yeah.

Benji Lanyado (1:19)

Digital ones. Yeah, digital ones. They're now retro.

James Richardson (1:23)

Struck me on the way in that Benji, you're a West Ham supporter and Dan leads towards the tournament of town, which means there's a unique sliding doors or flip reverse style moment. If you think back to May 24th, had things worked out different, had, for example, West Ham scored 12 goals against, who were you playing?

Benji Lanyado (1:44)

I can't even remember. I deleted it from my brain. Last game of the season.

James Richardson (1:47)

It could have been Dan facing Millwall this weekend.

Benji Lanyado (1:50)

No, I can't remember.

Dan Kilpatrick (1:52)

You obviously were playing Everton.

James Richardson (1:54)

You were playing Everton. Who were you playing?

Benji Lanyado (1:55)

I don't know, but we won. I think we won.

James Richardson (1:57)

Yeah, but if Spurs won.

Benji Lanyado (2:00)

Leeds, that's right. We thought Leeds might be involved and they weren't.

James Richardson (2:04)

Right. But my point is-

Benji Lanyado (2:05)

The one thing you never enjoyed much of last year, etc. All right. Thank you.

James Richardson (2:09)

But yeah, it could be Dan facing Millwall this weekend with Spurs, and Benji kind of loading it up in the Premier League.

Benji Lanyado (2:17)

And Jimbo, I'd ask you, who's happier? I'm here, I'm smiley. Yeah. The water is warm in the championship.

James Richardson (2:24)

Is it?

Benji Lanyado (2:24)

There we are sitting at the top, crisis free.

James Richardson (2:28)

Joint top.

Benji Lanyado (2:29)

Yeah.

James Richardson (2:29)

You had a six-nil win over Wrexham.

Benji Lanyado (2:31)

Yeah.

James Richardson (2:32)

Last weekend.

Benji Lanyado (2:33)

Yeah. Meanwhile, over on Whitehall Lane, not quite as much fun. I'm not saying that relegation is better than staying in.

James Richardson (2:40)

Right.

Benji Lanyado (2:40)

How many league goals have West Ham scored since Spurs last scored a league goal?

Dan Kilpatrick (2:43)

Quite a lot.

Benji Lanyado (2:46)

We've scored a Premier League goal more recently than Spurs, just to be clear.

Dan Kilpatrick (2:50)

I think if you can have that fun season in the championship, I feel like Newcastle did it.

Benji Lanyado (2:54)

Yeah.

Dan Kilpatrick (2:55)

If you go down and just dominate and you can score loads of goals, you don't have VAR, you can come back up, maybe there's something to be said for that.

Benji Lanyado (3:01)

Oh, yeah. Rather, you can't guarantee that it will be.

Dan Kilpatrick (3:04)

But yeah, that's the thing. Or in five years' time, you'll still be sitting here trying to claw your way out.

Benji Lanyado (3:09)

I can't believe you've got so much championship chat so early. This is great. I wasn't expecting this. It has been lovely. The lack of VAR is fantastic. The rumors are true. It is like an incredibly entertaining league. Okay. Well, the drop in quality is very stark.

Jared Bow in the championships, like Pavarotti turning up at a karaoke night, he's just having the time of his life. Nuno is playing a 1-5-1. Yeah. I'm having a lovely old time. It is classic where football fans will be. I've seen loads of West Ham tweets and stuff. People go, I've just fallen in love with football again. Is that connected to winning and scoring loads of goals? Yeah, it might be.

James Richardson (3:46)

It is. People should be jealous of us. I'm jealous of us. That kind of thing. Makes you think though, doesn't it? Fine margins. Just those 12 goals that you didn't score and yeah.
