All right, here we go. It's kind of like a five, four, three, two, one. Well, yeah, kind of like a SpaceX liftoff. Only we're going to get off the pad here. Welcome back to Fifty Plus. Or if you're brand new, thanks for easing in this time. I hope you'll find the show to be equal parts informative, educational, entertaining, with a dash here and there of humor and stuff that makes you a little happier than when you tuned in.
In case you haven't noticed, maybe haven't been outside yet today. The weather's settling out pretty well. Only a very slight chance of rain today, and that'll be this afternoon, I guess, which means most of us can pretty much do as we please. And the rest of you at some point today will wish you'd left that umbrella in the car. More weather later in this segment if we have time, but for now, I want to kind of get into President Trump's speech last night.
He addressed the nation with very powerful news, I thought, about election interference from top to bottom, including information he said showed that China had found a way to gain access to literally millions of Americans' voter information. He shared things that were formally classified, things that reveal credible evidence that there may be way more wrong than right with our election safeguards. Mainstream media fell differently, though, no surprise there. NBC and ABC actually opted not to even air the president's speech.
One aired a tired rerun of Press Your Luck, a game show, and the other trotted out some, I don't know, some thing, I didn't even look at it. The title bored me to tears. Something off a dusty shelf in a warehouse in Queens, I guess. And then there was CBS. It aired the speech, sort of. Only 12 or 15 minutes in, though, they tucked the ongoing speech into a little corner of the screen, muted the audio on our president, and dragged out a few talking heads who just instantly began picking apart everything President Trump had said. It was as though they couldn't wait to challenge every word he'd uttered, something that all three networks have done so well since he came into politics.
They didn't lead at all with any notion that he might be right. Instead, they just systematically and quite disrespectfully, I think, dismissed nearly everything he'd said. And in so doing, also, they were asserting that his sources of information, the FBI, the CIA, NIA, if President Trump was wrong, which they kept saying, then our intelligence gatherers had to be wrong.
This president of ours, he was sounding an alarm that should concern every American, and they had shut their eyes and ears from the time he opened his mouth.
At least ABC and NBC followed one of our generation's rules. If you can't say anything nice about somebody, don't say anything at all. And since there was no way they were gonna say anything nice about our president, they just dragged out an old game show and some oddball documentary. And all the while, those commentators on CBS couldn't bring themselves to wonder what might happen to America if our president was right. They never even suggested that that could be a possibility. Instead, they just spent their entire time focusing on knocking down everything he said. For me, the way the major networks handled this speech only confirms that mainstream media's just got a hatred for this man that they can't shake. They still cannot come to terms and accept that he's our president, a position he's taken twice now with absolutely nothing personal to gain from it. I have no doubt, honestly, that CBS stacked a room full of people last night for the speech whose only jobs were gonna be to find ways to discredit every single word our president said and then feed that information to those talking heads, like little bobble heads up there. Yo, yeah, he's wrong, he's wrong. It didn't work on me, and honestly, I doubt that it worked on many other people. When you criticize and discredit every word a man says, any man, for years and years and years, eventually, anybody with a brain is gonna stop and think about that, and they're gonna begin to realize that there may be something fishy going on that nobody could be wrong that many times. But the networks have been lying to us for a long time, and they're really good at it. Think back, if you will, to when President Biden and President Obama were in office. The mainstream loved them. If Joe Biden wanted to tell America what he had for breakfast, they'd all show up in his kitchen. If President Obama wanted to brag about Obamacare, never mind that all its promises turned out to be untrue, they'd say whatever they were told to say to keep Americans in his camp. And God forbid when someday those mainstream media folks wake up to realize they've gotten the socialist-elected president, and that president has declared that television belongs to the government now, and that nothing will air unless it's approved by a board of three or four wacko, ultra-left socialists. Maybe then they'll realize what they've done. Only then, it'll be too late. I'm not telling you what to believe. I'm just telling you to keep your ears and eyes open and read or listen to both sides of the stories in the news these days, while you still can. In a quick piece of Texas news, the Hill Country continues to catch historic amounts of rainfall that's supposed to continue at least through today and possibly even longer.
