All across the fantasy universe, by the time you're listening to this, NFL preseason football has already been played. We're back folks. We're so back. What's going on? Brian Drake alongside the guru, John Hansen. It's the Fantasy Points Podcast, rocking and rolling with you guys through the month of August. Training camp is in full swing. And John, today we're going to hit some news, some notes, some nugs. A few players got paid and paid handsomely across the NFL. So that's good for our fantasy first rounders, who we had a little bit of a question on. And then we're going to get into not my guys, but meh guys, if you follow along. And these are players, John, that you just can't get a read on right now. And it's some really interesting names because a few of these guys that we're going to get into could be linchpins to the fantasy season. So it's going to be a real interesting conversation. How are you doing, my friend? Are your Dodgers ever going to win a game again?

I'm doing well. Yeah, no, it's crazy. We did the whole thing about school bowl and now they're on a six game losing streak. But I am a little bit more focused on football.
Maybe the Dodgers are as well. They go into a little doldrum every year in August. But yeah, I know Dave Roberts is pissed, but we're getting hot and heavy here with the preseason coverage. And by the way, speaking of the preseason, you know, I will say, you know, the reporting in the NFL, it's not as good as it used to be for a variety of reasons. So, I mean, I find myself like researching, you know, like, oh, I haven't heard about this player. So I got to go like dig deep and find it. So I'm hoping keeping the expectations in check, but I'm hoping I can gain a little bit more insight into what I have right now by watching the preseason games and not just watching the action, but listening closely to the commentators and all that. And by the way, speaking of that, I know we're going to get into Staphon Diggs.
I think we need to start recording, you know, I'm going to start doing some mini pods, if you will. If you can make them or not. If you can make it, that's great. If not, we'll just make it a segment in a pod. Because for example, in DC, the DC commanders, I saw on Twitter, I think last week, Dan Helley has been announced as the play by play guy for the DC commanders in the preseason. Dan is from DC. And the reason I know that is because Dan is a friend of mine that I worked with for five years. So there's a name, hope his ears are tingling right now, but maybe in like two weeks, or maybe even after the first preseason game, I'm gonna say, yo dude, can you do 20 minutes on my podcast? Because those dudes, they're in the meeting rooms, you know, and he's a DC fan, so he knows the team very well. So it's a good way to get insight, but that's one of the examples. And just watching Dan on television talking about the team and all that goings on in training camp, I think we can pick up a lot of insight from that. But otherwise, yeah, there are a number of players that I'm not down on, but I'm not really feeling confident enough to truly back. So they're kinda like just there. They're kinda in limbo a little bit. Now, a lot of these names, some of these names, I may gravitate toward in a couple of weeks, but I'm just not there yet.
