Welcome to our Daily Rosary Meditation. Today we start a new series. The most important ingredient to the love of God and the love of others is your ability to give your sustained attention. But the digital age is destroying that. And with this series, we are going to teach you how to take it back.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our first mystery. There was a really dumb movie in the 90s called, fittingly enough, Dumb and Dumber. Maybe you saw it. I hope you didn't. Anyway, a classic quote from that movie comes when one of the main characters is asked why his wife left him. He answers, oh, she gave me some nonsense about me never listening to her. I don't know. I wasn't really paying attention.

It's a funny line because even in dismissing his wife's criticism, he's inadvertently admitting that she was totally right about him. But when you step back, it's actually not so funny because it reveals a terrible truth, which is that not being able to give someone your full attention, destroys relationships. It will destroy the relationship between spouses. It will destroy the relationship between parents and kids. And it will destroy your relationship with God.
